Security Priorities — the Foundations of the Neutrality of Our Motherland

Over the years of the independent development of Turkmenistan, the principle of neutrality, which underlies both domestic and foreign policies of our country and is enshrined in its Basic Law, has firmly established itself in world politics and diplomacy as an effective and promising model of international cooperation. That is why, Turkmenistan actively uses the economic, environmental, humanitarian and other components of its foreign policy in its relations with the outside world. Moreover, the leader of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov consistently puts forward an increasing number of large-scale foreign-policy initiatives aimed at strengthening peace, security and sustainable development, and they are widely recognised in the world community, making an increasingly significant contribution to solving regional and global problems facing humanity. For example, the complex processes taking place in the world in recent years are undoubtedly leading to the rise in tension and a declining level of trust among nations. It is known that Turkmenistan has always considered and continues to consider it counterproductive and futile to resolve disputes by force and consistently advocates the solution of all issues by political and diplomatic means. That is why, the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted the Resolution “International Year of Peace and Trust, 202

Industry of Turkmenistan as a key vector of the economy

Turkmenistan today is one of the most dynamically developing independent states in Central Asia. Its unique natural and climatic conditions, rich mineral resources, developed agriculture and powerful labour potential served as the basis for creating a diversified economy in the country with the priority development of not only the agricultural sector, but also of a powerful industry. In accordance with the economic strategy of the distinguished President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, large-scale reforms, aimed at diversifying industries and increasing exports of products in demand on world markets, are being implemented in Turkmenistan. World practice shows that industry plays the most important role in the development of the economy of any country. The national leader notes that despite the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the world, which led to a fall in the world economy, the closure of the borders of all states and a reduction in business contacts, Turkmenistan has maintained and ensured the growth of its economic activity. Its sustainability is ensured due to the balance between the supply from the industrial sector as a locomotive of the economy and domestic demand, supported by high rates of investments and real incomes of the population.

Relying on Ancestors’ Traditions

In the age of rapid technological changes, the problem of bringing up the younger generation is increasingly being heard all over the world. The works by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov raise the theme of family upbringing. His books, speeches and poems glorify eternal truths: love for the Motherland, father’s home, mother, beauty and wealth of the native land and respect for the traditions and customs of the Turkmen people. Arkadag says, “The key goal is to instil pride in young people for our glorious past, today’s happy life and bright future. The sacred words ‘Nation and Homeland’, like a kind of hymn, should become the motto of the life of our boys and girls.” Using historical experience, the Hero-Arkadag always meets with the elders during his trips to the regions of the country and discusses with them important issues not only of local life, but also of national importance.

Forest Belts Protect Crops

Forest plantations around settlements and cultivated lands are of great sanitary and hygienic importance, which is especially significant for newly irrigated lands in Turkmenistan. The greatest land-reclamation efficiency in this respect belongs to field-protective forest belts around irrigated fields, which have a beneficial effect on the course of crop growing. At the same time, a kind of forestry landscape is being created, as, for example, on the old-irrigated and newly developed lands of the Vas, Shasenem and Hanhovuz massifs and the Kopetdag and Koytendag plains. The network of field-protective forest belts is of great ecological importance for improving the culture of irrigated agriculture and for forming a certain microclimate in the surface layer of the areas adjacent to the fields. Agricultural scientists monitor the moisture regime and seasonal air temperature amplitudes in the fields, including the development and productivity of various crops, primarily wheat and cotton. In the course of the research, it was revealed that, in comparison with the fields protected with the help of forest plantations, the air humidity in open arable land is much lower, which is significant in a sharp continental climate characterised by fluctuations in temperature, an uneven amount of atmospheric precipitation and also strong winds.
