Respect for our national values

On October 29, the second meeting of the Turkmen Alabay International Association was held in Ashgabat and was dedicated to the Turkmen Alabay Day. Members of the government, officials of the relevant departments and institutions of higher education, and members of the Association attended the forum. Foreign dog breeders joined them via videoconferencing. Members of the International Association participated in the meeting via videoconferencing and emphasized the importance of gathering and sharing information about the current conditions of alabays, discussing the issues of their preservation and increasing their number. They highlighted the importance of different joint events, including in methodological conferences, exhibitions, contests, educational conferences, training sessions, and round-table discussions. The participants expressed confidence that cooperation with the Turkmen experts will improve the effectiveness of efforts to preserve the gene pool of these wonderful dogs for the future generations and to increase the number of thoroughbred alabays.

Sports and physical culture

Great progress is being made in the field of sports along with other spheres in our beloved Motherland. The love for sports is increasing in our country under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The human health is at the root of all values. Good health can be achieved mainly through doing sports and physical exercises. Physical culture provides physical and mental health, improves it, and develops creative abilities. Thus, promotional events are held to popularize the principles of a healthy lifestyle among young people and to attract the society to mass sports. The experience gained by the younger generations in the field of sports and physical culture is revealed in practice thanks to the national sports events.

The Turkmen alabays are our national pride

When people read the Turkmen Alabay book by our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, they realize that our ancestors have always considered alabays as loyal companions and friends. The Turkmen alabays became the pride and national value of our people. The book consists of five chapters, including in ‘May the Rays of Prosperity Illuminate the World!’, ‘First and Loyal Friend’, ‘Childhood Friend – Loyal Friend’, ‘Symbol of Loyalty and Courage’, and ‘Some Notes in My Notebook about Thoroughbred Turkmen Alabay’. This valuable book provides important information about the role of alabays in the life, folklore, literature and creativity of the Turkmen people. The Turkmen proverbs about aim and happiness, namely, ‘a horse is an aim’, ‘dog brings happiness’, ‘my dog is my happiness’, prove that our people saw aims in horses and happiness in alabays. Thus, along with the antiquity, bravery, cleverness, courage, and intelligence of this breed, the book provides many historical sources to reflect the dogs’ loyalty and faithfulness and to increase the love for the Turkmen alabay, which is considered a faithful and loyal friend nowadays. Education of young people

To date, great attention is paid to studying and promoting the glorious history of the Turkmen people. They have attached great importance to their spiritual and cultural values, as well as to their unique national culture and development since ancient times. The interest in our cultural and spiritual values and cultural heritage has increased in the revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. Our mother tongue, our literature, and our attitudes towards the education of younger generations are at the core of our national principles. Teaching our noble principles and national values to the younger generations and educating them to be patriotic is a priority of the state policy in Turkmenistan. In this context, promotional meetings are held at Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A.Niyazov on a regular basis. A valuable guide

Large events were held on the Day of Health Workers and the Medical Industry of Turkmenistan. The Volume XIV of the encyclopaedic work ‘Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan’ by our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov became a wonderful gift to the Turkmen people. The encyclopaedic work ‘Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan’ by our Hero-Arkadag, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Doctor of Medicine and Professor Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is aimed at protecting and strengthening the human health. In the Volume XIV of this work, the properties of a number of medicinal plants are analysed and explained on a scientific basis. The pictures, scientific information about medicinal plants, biological properties, distribution areas, natural reserves, medicinal substances, and chemical composition of them are provided in the form of graphics to increase the importance of this scientific work. The books by our Hero Arkadag are used as study guides at Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A.Niyazov.

Alabays are our national pride

Our national values provoke pride and inspire great respect in the revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. One of these values, which have enhanced the international prestige of our people, is brave, faithful and clever alabays. The Turkmen alabay was chosen the official mascot of the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, held in our country in 2017 to play an important role in the recognition of Turkmenistan as a sports power. This fact demonstrated great respect of the Turkmen people for alabays. The 15-metre Monument of Turkmen Alabay in one of the most beautiful parts of our white-marble capital is another evidence of high esteem for alabays.

Education is the beginning of perfection

Impressive work is underway to educate the physically and mentally healthy, smart young people and perfect professionals at the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan. The professors and lecturers of the Institute contribute to the environmental safety and innovations in science and production promoted by the state. They do their best to provide students with the education that meets the international standards. The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted at the VII Congress of Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan that he considers the youth to be the builders of the future of our beloved Motherland. Our happy young people work hard to implement the national and state programmes in different sectors of economy. The President of Turkmenistan expressed great confidence in younger generations and emphasized that he saw great progress of our Motherland in the youth. A draft version of the Law of Turkmenistan on the State Youth Policy was adopted at the Congress. This Law ensures the strong support of the state for young people to strengthen their position in society and for their excellent education.

Importance of digital education

The access to the highest achievements of the digital system has resulted in strengthening the material and technical base for the development of the digital system in our country under the leadership of our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The Concept of Developing the Digital Education System in Turkmenistan and the Concept of Teaching of Foreign Languages in Turkmenistan were adopted in September 2017 to define the stages of implementing the goals, tasks, and areas for developing the digital education. This fact demonstrates that achievements in education are linked to digitization. To date, the introduction of digital technologies into the scientific and education systems reveals the continuity of the work conducted in the field of education of young students in line with international standards.

The Law of Turkmenistan on Physical Culture and Sports establishes the basic principles in the field of physical education and sports, regulates public relations, and determines the legal, organizational, economic, and social foundations of actions in the country. Educational transformations

The successful implementation of the initiatives put forward by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the development of our country depends on the material and equipment base of the scientific and education system, which plays a key role in providing high-level personnel for the sectors of the economy, and on the modern teaching methods. According to the Programme of the President of Turkmenistan on the Socio-Economic Development, it is planned to build 4 high schools, 54 secondary schools, and 40 nursery schools by 2028. To date, the construction of the institution of higher education of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat and the Ahalteke Equestrian High School and scientific and production centre in Ahal Velayat are underway.

Independence is our happiness

On September 27, the Turkmen people have solemnly celebrated a major holiday – the 31st anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan. According to the cherished tradition, the main events of the holiday were held on the square in front of the State Tribune, which welcomed numerous guests in festive dress. The car platform of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy accompanied with numerous columns of masters of different sports, winners of international and national competitions, and their skilled trainers and coaches took part in the parade. Turkmenistan is recognized as the home of wellness and inspiration. Our country improves the national legislature in this area, adopts and successfully implements programmes within the framework of state support for physical education and high-level sports. The transformations implemented in the national sports system have resulted in formation of new generations of the talented young people, who glorify our country with their achievements and make a worthy contribution to the international sports prestige of our Motherland.

Dovlet Maslahaty is a symbol of statehood

The Dovlet Maslahaty (State Council), successfully organized on the eve of the 31st anniversary of independence, became a symbol of the commitment to the noble principles of the Turkmen people, which have been inherited from glorious ancestors in our epoch. On September 23, the Dovlet Maslahaty was held under the chairmanship of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the first time in the revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. The agenda of the event included summing up the results achieved over the past period and discussing priority tasks for the comprehensive development of the country. Besides other spheres, the participants attached special importance to the achievements in the development of sports and physical culture in our country, as well as primary tasks in the field of youth policy. Boxing rules in brief

Young boxing fans do not clearly understand the difference between the terms ‘knockdown’ and ‘knockout’. A knockdown occurs when a fighter touches the floor of the ring with any part of the body other than the feet following a hit, but is able to rise back up and continue fighting. A knockdown triggers a count by the referee. There should be one second between the verbal command ‘Stop Punching’ and the count. If a boxer goes down there is a mandatory 8 count. That means that even if the boxer rises to his feet the referee must continue the count up to 8 and then say ‘Box’. If the boxer is not able to rise back up and continue fighting even after the count of 8, the referee says ‘9, 10’ and adds ‘out’ after it. If the fighter fails the count, then the fight is ended as a knockout. At the children’s, youth and amateur events, the fight ends after the first knockdown. The professional boxing match continues until the third knockdown. Besides, a boxer who has been knocked out must rest for at least three months (if the blow was landed to the head) and must undergo medical attendance. The ringside physician immediately examines the beaten boxer. The boxer’s corner acts on the physician's instructions.

Ahalteke horses are an integral part of the national cultural heritage. From ancient times to the present day, representatives of various arts sing in their works love for the horse, its loyalty, grace, intelligence and racing virtues and also immortalise the talent of the people, because such a perfect breed is a result of creativity, knowledge, patience and inexhaustible creative possibilities of many generations. Nowadays Turkmen specialists aim their work at expanding the scientific basis of horse breeding activities using modern methods, promoting equestrian sports in the country and fostering international cooperation in this sphere. However, the main aspect of this work is to preserve the continuity of horse breeding traditions. This baton of glory was passed on from century to century, from one generation to another, and today, in the digital age, it is important that young people continue to revere and cherish the heritage of the nation, which determined their historical destiny.
