A seminar was held

Representatives of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Turkmenistan, public organizations of the country, coaches and specialists of the sports schools under the State Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan took part in a seminar, which concluded on February 24. The main goal of the seminar was to promote the principles of gender equality, a healthy lifestyle, emotional freedom, reproductive health and legal awareness of volunteers. The event included a number of impactful speeches.

On the eve of the international events

The Turkmen 3x3 basketball team has left for Druskininkai, the Republic of Lithuania. The basketball players from Turkmenistan will hold the training sessions in the city on February 23 – March 8. The Turkmen delegation in Lithuania consists of 19 people, including in 16 athletes. The training sessions will ensure intensive preparation of the Turkmen basketball players for the large tournaments.

The winners are known

The U14, 16 and 18 Chess Championships of Turkmenistan were organized on February 19–24. Over 100 chess players from all regions of the country took part in the 9-round Swiss-system tournament. There were expected results in the U18 Championships. The main contenders Amanmuhammet Hommadov (Ashgabat) and Lala Shohradova (Lebap Velayat) defeated their principal opponents – Vepaly Halynyyazov (Lebap Velayat) and Meryem Agajanova (Ashgabat) and won the titles.

The benefits of walking

15 minutes may seem like a short space of time, but people can do many things during that period. For example, even a 15-minute walking, outdoor recreation, or physical activity are good for the human health. Especially walking. Over the years, scientists have published numerous researches on the benefits of this habit. Walking improves heart and brain functions and lifts the spirits. Many people think that it is enough to walk 10000 steps a day. Scientists believe that people can get enough energy by walking for at least 15 minutes.

The meeting of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and public representatives was rich in historic decisions. At this socio-political event, the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan was established; our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was elected as the Chairman of this high representative body of the people's power and was recognized as the national leader of the Turkmen people. Those decisions originate from the will of our happy people. The adoption of those historic decisions provoked the pride of the Turkmen people for our national leader, who implemented great work on ensuring our happy life, on strengthening the stability in our country, and on promoting our national values to the world.

A highlight of the year of young people

The regular VIII Congress of Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan was held at the Mekan Palace in Ashgabat on January 28. The event gathered the representatives of the Organization from Ashgabat and regions of the country, promising students and schoolchildren. Taking into account numerous proposals of our compatriots and according to the Decree of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, 2023 was declared the year ‘Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar’. The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the youth represent our great future. Those words demonstrate a great trust in the youth, and strong bonds between generations. The Turkmen people support the policy put forward by our national leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

A victory of the popular democracy

The meeting of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and public representatives, which was held under the chairmanship of our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in our white marble capital, became a victory of the Turkmen popular democracy. The Constitutional Laws of Turkmenistan ‘On the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan’, ‘On the Amendments and Additions to the Constitution of Turkmenistan’ were adopted at this historic meeting. This fact indicated the adherence to our democratic principles, which were in harmony with the great spiritual, moral, and humanitarian traditions of our ancestors in the revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. The matters of national importance

Throughout history, the Turkmen people have discussed the acute issues at the nation-wide meetings. The popular sayings ‘people who take counsel will be safe’ and ‘people who exchange opinions will achieve their goals’ were created on the basis of that principle. A cherished dream of people

The democratic principles are increasingly popular in our country. The meeting of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and public representatives once again demonstrated this fact. As is known, the meeting was held with great enthusiasm to result in creation of a representative body of the people's power – the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan. Our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was elected as the Chairman of this structure. This decision was heartily supported by the Turkmen people and the Decree signed by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

A training session was held

As part of preparation for the qualifying round of the 2024 AFC U-20 Asian Cup, the junior (U17) and youth (U20) women's national teams of Turkmenistan took part in the training session, which was held at the training ground of the Olympic Village in Ashgabat. During the training session, the coaching staff headed by Kamil Mingazov checked the players who would be included in the national teams. In this context, it should be noted that the players from all regions of Turkmenistan attended the training session.

Young professionals' innovative thinking and creative approach to work are a driving force for the economic development, and these skills are an inexhaustible source of labour power in creating new opportunities.

The years of happiness

As is known, it has become a noble tradition in Turkmenistan to name each year thanks to the great initiatives of our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Considering numerous proposals put forward at the meetings in the ministries, departments, institutions, and public organisations, the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan has declared 2023 the year ‘Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar’ by the unanimous support of the Turkmen people. This decision imposed responsibility on the young people to enrich the noble principles of our ancestors and to make new achievements and accomplishments. These principles ensure the successful implementation of the state youth policy implemented by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. This wise policy leads the youth to success in an environment of reverent attitudes such as patriotism, high morality, and respect for our Motherland, glorious history, culture, traditions, and family values.

A model city

A new city, the administrative centre of Ahal Velayat, was built thanks to the great concern of our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the Turkmen land, which is located along the Great Silk Road and is the home to dozens of cities, states and cultures. Being constructed on the initiative of our Hero-Arkadag, scientist and the Honoured Architect of Turkmenistan, this beautiful city has become a model city owing to its unique architectural features and the latest technologies that form the concept of a smart city. According to the Decree of the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, the modern administrative centre was named the city of Arkadag, and this fact provoked great pride of the Turkmen people. It should be noted that educational institutions form a significant part of the facilities built in the city of Arkadag. The International Equestrian Academy, which will be added to the list of the institutions of higher education of the country, secondary, secondary vocational and primary schools equipped with the latest technologies demonstrate that the concern for the education system is always the focus of the state. To date, secondary vocational schools prepare specialists for the system along with several pedagogic schools. Physical culture and sports

As is known, great work is underway to promote physical culture and the principles of a healthy lifestyle in our country. The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the Decree ‘On the Establishment of the State Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan’ on October 20, 2022 and demonstrated great goodwill for the sports system. The results of this goodwill can be clearly seen in any corner of our beloved Motherland. Numerous stadiums and sports schools built and put into operation in Velayats and towns and a great number of athletes who practice different sports indicate that excellent conditions are provided for a bright future of our happy, healthy and strong young people.

The cordial pride of people

A festive meeting under the motto ‘the City of Arkadag is a Model of Modern Architecture’ was held in the Malikguly Berdimuhamedov Palace of Culture in Yzgant settlement, Gokdepe Etrap on December 25. The Ahal Velayat Hyamkilik, the Halk Maslahaty and the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan jointly organized the event. The meeting was dedicated to granting the new, modern administrative centre of Ahal Velayat the status of a city, to naming it the city of Arkadag, and to starting the second stage of the construction of the city. Representatives of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, public organizations, different sectors of the national economy, employees of education, culture, health institutions, the elders, the youth and other guests made speeches at the event.

Turkmenistan has been successfully implementing the open-door policy of peace, positive initiatives, unity and neutrality over the years. The country's efforts to achieve sustainable development, to ensure security, to strengthen peace, and to promote the social and economic development on the planet are widely recognized. The adoption of the Resolutions on the International Day of Neutrality and ‘the role and importance of a policy of neutrality in maintaining and strengthening international peace, security and sustainable development’, and joining of several countries to the Group of Friends of Neutrality for Peace, Security and Sustainable Development, established within the framework of the United Nations, demonstrate the above-mentioned facts.
