Newborn Bogatyr

It has become a good tradition in Turkmenistan to announce the name of the first baby born at New Year’s night. This year it was a boy who was born at the Maternal and Child Healthcare Centre in the city of Arkadag. He became the third long-awaited child in the Kakageldiyevs family, residents of the village of Yzgant of the Geoktepe etrap, Ahal velayat. The new-born is a real bogatyr, his weight is four kilograms 230 grams, and his height is 54 centimetres. The health of the child and his mother is satisfactory; they are constantly under the supervision of the Centre’s medical staff.

New Year Celebrations in Arkadag City Bring Together Children from all Over the Country

The cheerful and bright New Year celebrations continued in Arkadag City on the second day of the New Year, the motto of which is “The Fount of Mind Magtymguly Pyragy”. Their participants were the children, who are undergoing rehabilitation at the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre, the children from a kindergarten located on the territory of the Centre and their parents. In the period of the Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State, the comprehensive concern for the younger generation has become a key priority of the state policy, laid down by the National Leader of the Turkmen people and being successfully implemented by esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Much attention is paid to bringing up young people following the principles of patriotism and teaching young people to respect conscientious work and national traditions and to abide by the wise ancestors’ precepts.

At the meeting, the results of the work done over the past year were summed up, issues of the country’s state life were discussed, and tasks for the future were set. There, the Hero-Arkadag conducted a meeting with the Vice-President of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Aid to Children in Need of Guardianship R. The City of Arkadag Lights up New Stars of Pop Music

A real gift for the participants and spectators of the competition for young pop singers was the holding of the final round of the Ýylyn Parlak Ýyldyzy (“Shining Star of the Year”) competition for the first time in the new city of Arkadag. There, on the site of the Trade Complex, under the bright rays of the spotlights, ten young talents performed, charming the jury and audience with their beautiful singing art. It is symbolic that a new young galaxy of stars of the musical horizon lit up in the city of Arkadag in the year “Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar”. The main prize and the Challenge Cup were awarded to Bahar Annayeva. “It is a great honour to become the winner of the youth pop competition ‘Shining Star of the Year’,” Bahar says. “What fills me with special pride is that the competition was held for the first time in the new city of Arkadag and in a year whose motto is ‘Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar’. Lights on the Main New Year Tree of Turkmenistan Lit

Bright lights lit up on the New Year Tree of the country, heralding the imminent arrival of the beloved and long-awaited, cheerful and good holiday – New Year’s Day. Following the tradition, the celebrations centred in the square in front of the Älem Cultural and Entertainment Centre, located in one of the picturesque districts of the capital at the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains, where the tallest New Year’s Tree was installed. It is surrounded with a festively decorated fairy-tale town.

The Results of the Russian Language Olympiad Have Been Summed up

At the end of the year 2023, held in our country under the motto “Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar”, a series of major international student Olympiads in various disciplinary areas have been held by several domestic higher educational establishments. Among them is Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, which initiated holding of the first International Internet Olympiad in the Russian language. In total, its participants included over one and a half thousand students from 182 universities of more than twenty countries around the world such as Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, China, Türkiye, the USA, Ukraine, Romania, Germany, India, the Republic of Korea, Hungary, Australia, Poland, France, Austria, Egypt, South Africa and Brazil. About half of the participants of the Olympiad were representatives of student youth of Turkmenistan from 26 higher educational establishments.

Anau Picks up the Baton of Cultural Capital of Turkic World

A solemn forum entitled “Ancient Anau – the Cultural Centre of the Turkic World” took place at the House of Culture in Anau. It was held to fulfil the instructions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, given at the sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers on December 15, to organise festive events marking the status of Anau as the 2024 Cultural Capital of the Turkish World. Those speaking at the forum reminded those present about the decision of the 39th Meeting of the Permanent Council of TURKSOY, which took place in Bursa (Türkiye) on November 5 last year, to select Anau as the 2024 Cultural Capital of the Turkic World. It is symbolic that at the same meeting, 2024 was declared the Year of the great poet and thinker Magtymguly. On December 10, the moving symbol of the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World, which was put on public display by the participants of the forum in Anau, was handed over to the representatives of Turkmenistan at a solemn ceremony in the city of Shusha, Republic of Azerbaijan.

Gems – Luxury of Turkmen Nature

Gems and ornamental minerals – jasper, amethyst, quartz geodes, nodules of pink celestite from Tuarkyr, agate from the Big Balhan Mountains banded marble onyx, which combines translucent and opaque bands, from the caves of Koytendag and Kaylyu, zebra-shaped dolomite from the Kopetdag Mountains, travertine from Gaurdak and chalcedony from Tuarkyr can be found in Turkmenistan. Many beautiful and rare samples “settled down” in the geological collections of training and research centres, nature museums of Turkmenistan and the CIS countries and private collections around the world.

Towards the Holiday

The New Year 2024 is getting closer. It can be felt in the changing look of cities and villages, where festively decorated New Year’s trees have appeared. And near the building “Türkmeniň ak öýi”, the main forest beauty of the southern region of the country has already shone with multi-coloured lights. With the onset of dusk, the streets of the city on the Murghab River are covered with luminescent light from hundreds of New Year’s garlands covering decorative vegetation. However, not only the changing look of the city indicates the approach of everyone’s favourite New Year’s holiday. It is noticeable that many townspeople are caught up in pleasant chores. When meeting with friends and acquaintances, they involuntarily smile, congratulating each other on the forthcoming holiday with wishes of happiness, goodness, peace and prosperity at home.

Both Tasty and Healthy

The look of the village is changing before our eyes. Almost all elements of urban life quickly penetrated into its life: the Internet, mobile communications and high-quality houses with all amenities. Almost every yard has a car. Now you will not see a person walking from a well with buckets filled with water. Nevertheless, one thing in the life of the villagers remains unchanged: the majority of its residents are engaged in livestock raising and farming. Even those whose profession is not connected with agriculture work in their free time on their plot of land, some for the family and some for sale. A resident of the village of the Taze Durmush of Nobat Gutliyev Gengeshlik, Charjev etrap, Miyesser Tangrykuliyeva is among those who cannot sit idle even for an hour. After graduating from the International University for Humanities and Development, she has been teaching computer science to children at secondary school 10 for four years. However, born and raised in the village, she cannot imagine her life without working on the land.
