Results of Competition Announced

The art competition “Poetry of Magtymguly – the Spiritual Wings of the Turkmen People”, announced by the Neutral Turkmenistan Newspaper to mark the 300th birth anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy, has ended. The participants included scientists, teachers of higher educational institutions, school teachers, employees of enterprises, museums and libraries, artists, musicologists and members of public organisations. NT published dozens of works (in prose and poetry) presented in the competition on its pages. The organising committee selected the authors of the best works.

Arkadag City – an Embodiment of Cities of the Future

President Serdar BERDIMUHAMEDOV: The inauguration of smart Arkadag City, built on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, with a modern integrated infrastructure is an important step to further improve the standard and quality of life of the people. A year ago, on June 29, the international presentation of the new city of Arkadag took place in a solemn and festive atmosphere. The participation of esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, government members, heads of government agencies, representatives of diplomatic missions and international organisations, accredited to Turkmenistan, and numerous foreign guests invited to the celebration emphasised the special significance of this event. Arkadag City received the status of a special purpose city and became a kind of visiting card of Turkmenistan and a symbol of large-scale endeavours of the period of the Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State. New Products in the Domestic Industry

The development of the economy of Turkmenistan in the period of the Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State is characterised by the presence of two main features – the strengthening of the potential of the private sector and its technological transformation. Domestic enterprises, as a rule, rely on sustainable development, introducing best business practices. An example in this sense is the Toprak Economic Society, specialising in the production of paper and cardboard products. The Company, founded in 1998, is currently the flagship of the national pulp and paper industry. At the beginning of its functioning, the Company was engaged in collecting waste paper and processing it. Now the Company has four large production facilities and a multifunctional industrial infrastructure. The Company not only provides consumers in a timely manner, but also creates confidence in potential customers, including foreign ones, in its responsible attitude towards partners.

Under the Evening Sky of the Capital

The annual creative festival “Talyp joshguny–2024”, held among students of the higher educational institutions, ended with a big festive concert in Ashgabat. The best creative groups from 26 higher educational establishments of our country, noted by the jury, received the right to perform in the finals of the festival in one of the prestigious venues of the country, namely, under the open evening sky of the capital at the Aşgabat Song and Music Centre. The event was organised by the Central Council of Magtymguly Youth Organisation of Turkmenistan together with the Ministry of Education of our country. Students demonstrated their multifaceted creative potential by performing vocal music, original choreographic compositions and theatrical performances. According to the terms of the competition programme of the festival, at its different stages, students were required to complete the tasks prepared based on the content of the books of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag and the President Arkadagly Hero Serdar. Talented youth had the opportunity to fully demonstrate their creative and intellectual capabilities.

Wood has long been the most common material for household items. Carpentry, which began with the making of simple items, developed into the art of woodworking. People’s desire to decorate their homes and to make beautiful dishes laid the groundwork for wood carving and wood painting. The Turkmen people made high-quality, artistic wooden products: vessels and household items. Wooden utensils were widely used in everyday life. In almost every Turkmen village there lived craftsmen who had, to one degree or another, carpentry skills and could make necessary household items and tools for their fellow villagers.
