August is on the calendar. And at this time of the year, traditionally in our country, the admission campaign to secondary and higher professional educational institutions is entering its active phase. The annual increase in the number of specialities that train highly qualified personnel in demand by various sectors of the national economy has become a good tradition for our country in the period of the Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State. What the Exhibits Tell about

In this year, the motto of which is "Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Pyragy”, the History and Local Lore Museum of the Magtymguly etrap of the Balkan velayat became the centre of attraction for the poet’s admirers. The opening of the modern Museum, built in 2015 on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag in the centre of etrap, radically changed its architectural look and the historical and memorial complex with the monument of Magtymguly Pyragy in the centre and surrounded by seven “stars” of Turkmen classical poetry – Gurbandurdy Zelili, Mammedveli Kemine, Seyitnazar Seydi, Gurbanali Magrupi, Annagylych Mataji and Mollanepes – as if a thread connecting a galaxy of outstanding poets.

Canyon of All Colours of the Rainbow

Yangigala, Kizyl Dag, Fiery Rocks, Rainbow Mountains and Pink Canyon – these are the names of the area on the ancient Ustyurt plateau south of the Garabogaz Bay in the northwest of the Balkan velayat, which is one of the most picturesque natural sites of Turkmenistan and is located 165 km north of Balkanabat and 160 km east of the seaside city of Turkmenbashi. The area of the approximately 24-kilometre section is also called the Grand Canyon of Central Asia, which is recognised as one of the most beautiful landscapes on the planet. The fantastic natural landscape appeared due to geological processes, climate and time. 2500 years ago, the Tethys Ocean was located on this site, but when it dried up, deposits of sandstone and other minerals remained in its place. Then the collision of tectonic plates led to the appearance of hills, and they in turn experienced the effects of erosion, wind and rain, forming incredible layers resembling a giant layered cake in a section.

Connection of Times, Traditions and Generations

In order to ensure the broad participation of representatives of the people in solving important issues of the state and public life, to strengthen the unity and cohesion of society, to creatively improve achievements in the development of national democracy, relying on the centuries-old experience of our glorious ancestors in state administration and following their wise precepts, on July 20, 2024, the Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan adopted a Resolution on convening the next meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan on September 24, 2024 and holding it in the city of Ashgabat. After gaining sovereignty and declaring state independence, Turkmenistan was faced with the task of determining the path of its further national state building and forming fundamentally different institutions of power and ultimately its own model of state building. A new milestone in the history of the establishment of the Turkmen state was laid by the adoption of the Constitution of Turkmenistan on May 18, 1992. The Path to Sustainable Food Abundance

Ensuring food abundance in the country is one of the priorities of Turkmenistan’s economic policy. The agro-industrial complex plays a crucial role in achieving this goal. Due to the ongoing reforms in agriculture, significant progress has been achieved in this sphere. The use of artificial intelligence technologies opens up unlimited possibilities for ensuring sustainable food abundance. This year, hardworking farmers handed over more than 1 million 400 thousand tonnes of grain to the harman of the Motherland, and successfully fulfilled contractual obligations for harvesting food wheat. In addition, in agriculture, in the six months of 2024, compared with the same period in 2023, the production of vegetables increased by 7.4 per cent, potatoes – by 11.4 per cent, berries and fruit – by 1.2 per cent.

An Important Stage in the Modernisation of the Electric Power Industry

The commissioning of the Balkan–Dashoguz high-voltage power transmission line with a voltage of 500 kilovolts and a total length of 572 kilometres and the new electrical substations, Balkan and Dashoguz with a similar voltage of 500 kilovolts each, which took place in early June of this year with the participation of the President of the country Serdar Berdimuhamedov, became clear evidence of the far-sighted energy policy of the head of state on the reliable and uninterrupted supply of electricity to domestic consumers, the diversification of Turkmen electricity supplies to foreign consumers, the creation of new energy capacities, the improvement of the technical condition and the optimal functioning of distribution systems. Currently, power transmission lines and substations with voltages of 500 kV and above occupy a special place in the modern electric power system of independent Turkmenistan. They include devices designed to transmit or distribute electrical energy through wires located in the open air and attached to supports using traverses (brackets), insulators and reinforcements. Possessing high throughput capacity, power lines-500 are system-forming lines and increase the reliability and efficiency of the power system. In addition, they are powerful intersystem connections, providing large intersystem power flows, thereby increasing the survivability of

Roads of Transit Corridors

Highways are an integral part of the transport infrastructure of Turkmenistan. They serve not only for internal freight transportation flows, but also for mutually beneficial international cooperation. An effective example is the Ashgabat–Turkmenabat highway – a key hub of international transportation, which allows improving significantly the transportation of transit goods in the Central Asian region. As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasises, “The completion of the construction of the Ashgabat–Turkmenabat highway will provide an opportunity to significantly increase the throughput capacity of the country’s transport system and the quality of logistics services. Improving the transport system, in turn, will have a huge impact on the national economy’s dynamics.”

Protecting Nature is Everyone’s Duty

Probably, when heading to Geokdere and Archabil, many residents of Ashgabat notice people in uniforms on the tops of the hills. This is how observation posts work – an annual campaign of the fire danger period that begins on May 1 will last all summer long and first half of autumn. From these equipped posts, the area around is inspected for smoke – the early signs of a starting fire and open fire. These structures are set up near industrial facilities and roads and around state nature reserves. Those on duty are ecologists, additional employees of the Ministry of Environment Protection of Turkmenistan and military personnel of the security, defence and law-enforcement agencies, particularly inspectors and firefighters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who are in close partnership. Observers are equipped with loudspeakers, two-way radios and communication devices, binoculars, fire extinguishers and mallets to quickly extinguish fires. Fire safety and prevention measures are implemented in an enhanced mode in the recreational areas at the Kopetdag foothills, where residents and guests of the capital recreate in the shade of trees near the rivers on these summer days. Most observation posts are located in such places. Landscapers and utility workers of the Ashgabat hyakimlik keep the gorges in Archabil and Geokdere clean. Awareness-raising activities are conducted for lovers of

The Whole Dynamics of Life

These days, a personal exhibition of a sculptor Orazmurat Gurbanov to mark the 70th anniversary of the master, took place at the Exhibition Centre of the Directorate of Art Exhibitions of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan. In total, over one hundred bronze works are presented. Having thoroughly studied the life of the Turkmen village, the sculptor embodies in his works images inspired by his own impressions. The main features of author’s style of O. Gurbanov are polyphony of images and dynamism. His works, according to art critics, are distinguished not only by plasticity, but also by a special philosophical view. The master seems to give the viewer something to think about without placing bright accents.

Vacation at Sea – to Improve Health

Summer is the time for holidays and vacations, a time when many people go to relax at the seaside in the wonderful Avaza national tourism zone. A trip to the sea is a joyful event that the whole family looks forward to. However, excessive sun exposure and increased water activity can negatively affect human body. According to medical experts, one of the most common problems of beach holidays is acute intestinal infections. Therefore, when swimming in the sea or pool, try not to swallow water. If possible, spend minimal time in the pool. And after swimming, be sure to take a shower using soap and a washcloth.
