President of Turkmenistan Participates in the Informal Summit of the CIS Heads of State

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was on a working visit to the Russian Federation to participate in the informal Summit of the Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States, traditionally held on the eve of the New Year’s Day. As an associate member of the CIS, Turkmenistan builds relations with the Commonwealth states based on historically established traditions of friendship and good neighbourliness. At the Ashgabat International Airport, the Head of Turkmenistan was seen off by officials.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the construction site of the International Clinical Research Centre of Oncology in the north of the capital. The modern medical complex that will complement the multidisciplinary infrastructure of Turkmenistan’s healthcare sector will soon spring up there. Cooperation for Sustainable Development

The main objective of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy is to provide comprehensive assistance to the world community in its efforts to maintain and strengthen the global security system and to ensure conditions for the sustainable development of states and peoples. In Turkmenistan, the infrastructure of transport and transit corridors is intended for improving the country’s economic performance. Development of Export-Oriented Policy

Turkmenistan is maintaining stable economic growth amidst the global economic downturn and geopolitical cataclysms. Currently, the country, having entered a new stage of historical development, is successfully implementing the socioeconomic development programme initiated by the President within the Socioeconomic Development Strategy in 2022–2052. The main vectors of development include export orientation of the national economy. The economic strategy of the esteemed President gives an important place to the tasks of expanding trade opportunities and enhancing export potential. Given regional and global instability, the President repeatedly emphasises the importance of creating a flexible export policy of Turkmenistan. As a result, a flexible and pragmatic export-oriented policy ensures the successful development of all sectors of the economy. The strategic goals are to improve the structure of Turkmen exports, to expand the geography of cooperation, to use progressive forms of international trade and economic partnerships and to adopt modern exchange services and e-commerce.

Every year, on the eve of the New Year’s Day, the capital of the country, white-marble city of Ashgabat, dresses up in New Year’s attire, turning into a fairy-tale city shining with a rainbow of lights. New Year’s fairs are an opportunity for Ashgabat residents and guests of the capital to buy products for the holiday table, New Year’s gifts and decorations, fancy dress costumes for children and everything necessary for fun New Year’s celebrations. The abundance of New Year’s goods on the shelves of retail outlets is pleasing, the joyful feeling of the holiday is created by the New Year’s decorations of the streets, parks and public gardens of our capital.

New Year’s Gift for Turkmen Spectators

The winter sports complex – the ice arena, which has repeatedly become the venue for mass celebrations and music shows with the participation of popular foreign pop singers, greeted guests and residents of the capital in sparkling New Year’s attire during these pre-holiday days. The pre-New Year’s Day concert, which marked the beginning of the winter holidays, was opened by the famous Iranian rap artist of Turkmen origin Emin Rasen. A thinker Niyazkuli at-Turkmen, who lived in Bukhara at the dawn of the 19th century, wrote, “Nature is a step to understanding high spirituality and deep morality.” Several teachers and a group of students from the Agricultural University in Ashgabat have been staying with the shepherd’s camp of an experienced shepherd Ahmet aga for the second day. The future young specialists and their teachers came to study the behaviour of herd animals, methods of livestock care and treatment and effective grazing strategies. The guests became so attached to the good-natured shepherd within a couple of days that Ahmet aga became for them not only an expert in desert sheep breeding, but also a wise interlocutor.

The information services market in Turkmenistan is expanding year by year. The defining document in this area is the multi-stage Conception of the development of digital economy in Turkmenistan for 2019–2025. Famous composers and artists, writers and poets, cultural figures, masters of art and young people gathered to watch the final concert, which took place at Alp Arslan National Drama Theatre of Turkmenistan. The atmosphere in the hall was filled with delight and anticipation when the lights on the improvised festive stage were switched on, and the first chords of the orchestra carried the audience into the world of music and poetry.

Chrysanthemum is considered the queen of the garden. Its bright colours and exquisitely graceful shapes create a special atmosphere in the garden. The homeland of chrysanthemums is Japan and China. Archaeologists found the first depiction of a chrysanthemum on Chinese porcelain made more than 2,000 years ago. The beauty of chrysanthemums is so captivating that in some countries these flowers are national emblems. For example, the chrysanthemum is depicted on the coat of arms of the imperial family of Japan, printed on the cover of a Japanese foreign passport and recognised as a symbol of the country. The chrysanthemum is depicted on fabrics, vases and dishes. Translated from Japanese, the name of the flower – “kiku” means “the sun that gives life to everything on earth”.
