Elman Tagayev – AFC cup top goal scorer

«Türkmenistan Sport», № 4, 2021 The midfielder of the Turkmenistan national team and Ahal FC Elman Tagayev has become the top goal scorer in the AFC Cup this season. The staffs of the 7/24 e-supplement of Türkmenistan Sport International Magazine and the Football Federation of Turkmenistan conducted rigorous analysis of the performance of the Ahal half-defender and calculated that he had scored 5 goals in 3 games. This means that his success rate is 1.6661.66 in each game (5/3). This is the best result of the season.

New book by President of Turkmenistan Presented in Ashgabat

The new book by the President of Turkmenistan Independence is Our Happiness, published on the eve of the 30th anniversary of independence, was presented at the Centre of Public Organisations. The representatives of Parliament and public organisations and the media attended the meeting. Those speaking at the presentation noted that the new book by the leader of Turkmenistan was some kind of excursus to the modern history of the Turkmen nation. The book emphasises the rightful place of the Turkmen state, founded at the end of the 2nd millennium BC, on the political map of the world, marking the beginning of a new historical era for the people of the country.

International recognition

The documents adopted at the Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia were recognized as a document of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly   On August 6, 2021, the regular  Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia was successfully held on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea. In parallel with this event, the Dialogue of Women of Central Asia was held on the platform of the above-mentioned Forum.

WHERE FRIENDS MEET CONSULTATIVE MEETING OF HEADS OF STATE OF CENTRAL ASIA 06.08.2021. The Third Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia under the chairmanship of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took place in the Avaza national tourism zone on the Caspian Sea coast. The Avaza Congress Centre became the venue for the high-level forum attended by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

The story of one photo

«But I didn’t think this photo would make such a big impression,» a student from Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports Mehriban Kurbanova said. In September 2017, during the Asian Games in Ashgabat, my colleagues and I prepared the special pages for each issue of Turkmenistan Newspaper. On a day of the Asian Games, I came to  Editor-in-Chief Kakamurat Rejepov to ask him for advice on the special page of the forthcoming issue. He showed me the latest issue of Neutral Turkmenistan Newspaper and said, «This photo says it all. Everything is clear without words. But we can find the heroine of the photo and talk to her.»

Three new countries joined the African sambo confederation

They are Burkina Faso, Togo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The corresponding decision was made at the Congress of the African SAMBO Confederation (CAS), held on July 28 in Cairo (Egypt) on the eve of the start of the African SAMBO Championships. The official event was attended by representatives of 14 countries - Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Egypt, Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger and Tunisia.

Tamdyr: traditions of baking

The purpose of modern museums is to study, preserve and promote the historical heritage of the Turkmen people, who have centuries-old rich history and culture. The ethnography department of the State Museum of the State Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan has a rich collection of national clothes, jewellery and household items. Since farming was the main economic sector of the Turkmen people, many exhibits tell about the labour of grain growers and associated practices. After reaping a rich harvest, dayhans held special celebrations in honour of this event so that subsequent years would be good for the crops. These centuries-old traditions continue to this day.

Who of you has never drunk camel chal – a lightly carbonated natural product with slightly sour taste that pleasantly tingles in your mouth? This ancient national nutritious dietary product, which has come to us from the depths of centuries, helps cure many diseases. The eco-friendly beverage from camel milk conveys the aroma and rich colours of the desert. However, this mixture comprises only natural ingredients, and it has all the useful properties; it is one of the major components in healthy recipes proven by millennia. The outstanding nutritional, dietary and therapeutic characteristics of camel milk and camel milk products as well as a great demand are driving a growing commercial interest. In recent years, a number of large private camel breeding farms has been set up in the country with the support of the Turkmen leader, who describes the incredibly valuable properties of camel milk and chal in his books, and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan. One of them is the farm of Polat Kanayev in Geoktepe etrap that specialises in dairy production.

Original design of turkmen felt rug

The nations that have preserved the traditions of culture, everyday life and art always have a fertile soil to let professional decorative and applied arts prosper. Over the centuries, people have tried to express their understanding of life, nature and the world in an artistic form through songs, fairy tales, epics, folk festivals, dances and household items. The ancient techniques of making felt rugs have been preserved until our days in many Turkmen villages. Today, felt rugs remain an integral attribute of daily life of a Turkmen family. Since ancient times, the Turkmen people have called their house a felt house. Felt covered the yurt, protected from the sun, wind and moisture, insulated and adorned the floor and turned the walls into a carpet art gallery. Felt rugs served as blankets for horses and cloaks for shepherds. In the hands of the Turkmen people, wool turned into handmade pictures that deserve to be called masterpieces of decorative and applied arts.
