This holiday has a special significance in the life of our nation, because independence is the fulfilment of the centuries-old dream of our ancestors. To date, the Turkmen people fully support the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, take pride in the achievements of independence, build, create and contribute to the implementation of the great initiatives. Our compatriots are happy to witness achievements in the domestic and foreign policy of the Motherland in the short historic period. New, modern villages, towns, large factories with innovative technologies, buildings for social and cultural purposes, including educational, medical, health centres and facilities in all regions of our Motherland represent the fruits of independence.

On the eve of the nationwide council

The Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan became a symbol of the development of democratic principles in the Turkmen society in the revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. The Halk Maslahaty acts in accordance with the Constitution of Turkmenistan and represents the supreme organ of government authority. It embodies the commitment to the principles of statehood, the path of national development chosen by our independent, permanently neutral Motherland. Each meeting of the Halk Maslahaty becomes a historic event in the life of the country. The participants of the nationwide forum discuss the urgent issues aimed at the implementation of national programmes, the development of our beloved Motherland, and a prosperous and happy life of the people. The upcoming meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan will be held at the Maslahat Palace in Ashgabat, the Turkmen capital, on September 24, 2024, on the eve of the Independence Day of our beloved Motherland.

Independence is our pride

The Turkmen people realized the dream of their ancestors for an independent state by gaining the independence of the country. A solid foundation of a democratic, legal, secular state has been established in Turkmenistan during the years of independence. The Constitution of Turkmenistan was adopted to ensure the formation and strengthening of an independent state. According to the Basic Law, the citizens of Turkmenistan are provided with broad legal rights and freedoms. Excellent opportunities are created to work creatively and live a decent life in the country. Owing to the fundamental transformations conducted during the years of independence, the national economy reached a qualitatively new level of development. The status of permanent neutrality has strengthened the position of independent Turkmenistan in the world community.

Young people are the future of the country

Impressive work is underway to comprehensively support the younger generations, develop their skills and strengthen the international cooperation. The Strategy for International Cooperation of the Youth of Turkmenistan for 2023–2030 proves the abovementioned fact. To date, the youth conferences, large-scale forums, creative festivals and Olympiads in the fields of science, education, sports, as well as other important areas of international cooperation, are organized in the country within the framework of this important document on a regular basis. These international events demonstrate that the youth cooperation is an important condition for ensuring the stable social, economic, scientific and technical development of the world community, including the strengthening of friendly relations between countries.

The principles of democracy

According to the Decree of the Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan will be held on September 24, 2024, on the eve of the 33rd anniversary of independence of the country. At the meeting, its participants will discuss several issues dedicated to the work on the development of our country. The happy young people, who are considered the main value in Turkmenistan, follow the noble examples of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, work hard in all sectors of the economy, and contribute to the successful development of our Motherland in the new epoch. As is known, the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan includes representatives of different ages and embodies the unique principles of the national democracy. The special importance of the Halk Maslahaty is reflected in the alignment of social principles of the Turkmen people that are significant in the historic development with the modern trends, and their orientation towards the implementation of sustainable development goals, priority tasks and issues.

The monument to Magtymguly in the Kopetdag Mountains

The 300th anniversary of the birthday of Magtymguly Pyragy and the year of the ‘Ocean of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy’ entered the history of Turkmenistan in the letters of gold. The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov make great efforts to promote the literary heritage and glory of the poet in the world. To date, impressive work is underway to enhance the prestige of the country. The President of Turkmenistan took part in the opening ceremony of the monument to the great Turkmen poet and the Magtymguly Pyragy Cultural Park Complex, which was created at the initiative of our Hero-Arkadag. The ceremony became a remarkable event of the year and the whole epoch.
