TURKMEN TRADITIONS OF HOSPITALITY IN MAGTYMGULY’S POETRY

Magtymguly Pyragy’s poetry is written from different points of view, particularly about Turkmen society, patriotism, moral purity, love, hospitality, bravery, courage, heroism, unity, women’s dignity, hard work, decency and other issues that still echo in our days with a clear voice and shine brightly. In his book «The Unquenchable Torch in the Crown of the Spirit», Hero Arkadag noted that the wise poet’s literary heritage is rich in the valuable ideas, the best traditions of humankind. The wise poet underlined the Turkmen traditions of hospitality in his poems. Turkmenistan – our motherland is renowned for its hospitality. Hospitality is a symbol of generosity and statehood.

Magtymguly is a great thinker whose creativity founded a model school of upbringing of the younger generation in compliance with high moral standards. Hospitality is one of the most wonderful traditions and moral standards of the Turkmen people. This is fully confirmed by the proverb «Guest is greater than your father».
