Turkmenistan is a sports country

Our country has created an excellent sports infrastructure in a short period of time. The facilities built in the capital, Ashgabat attract the attention of the international sports community. The world and regional large events, held in our country on a regular basis, require the effective implementation of all organizational tasks, from the reception of foreign delegations to the technical schedule of the tournaments, and enhance the experience in holding the international forums and in providing their informational support. Our country attaches great importance to the expansion of international relations in the field of sports, including the intensive cooperation with the world's leading sports organizations and the full implementation of agreements. International exhibitions, conferences and other events in Turkmenistan contribute to the broad cooperation, to the training of high-level coaches, athletes, sports experts, and to the intensification of information flow. According to experts, the scientifically integrated development of physical culture and sports in Turkmenistan demonstrates the great potential of our country in holding large sports events. The concern of the President of Turkmenistan has resulted in great success of a comprehensive planning strategy and effective measures to achieve the ultimate goals.

The 2021 best national football personalities

The Football Federation of Turkmenistan has announced the results of the 2021 football season. The sports journalists and representatives of the football clubs took part in the voting organized by the Federation. As a result of the voting, Elman Tagaev, a midfielder of the Ahal FC, was named the best player. It should be noted that E.Tagaev was the top scorer (10 goals) in the 2021 Football Championship of Turkmenistan.

Noble aspirations in the New Year

Every day, month and year of the epoch of might and happiness is notable for the transformations and historical achievements that contribute to the happy life of our people under the wise leadership of the President of Turkmenistan. The events of last year, which was held under the motto ‘Turkmenistan – the Home of Peace and Trust’, were written on the pages of history in the letters of gold. Our country has greeted 2022 with joyous celebrations, great inspiration and good wishes, which are characteristic to the wond\erful traditions of the Turkmen festive events. Due to numerous proposals from our compatriots, 2022 is being held under the motto ‘the Era of the People with Arkadag’. Our beloved Motherland will continue to thrive in all spheres, because this year coincides with the Year of the Tiger according to the Eastern astrology. Moreover, our people believe that this year brings wealth. A number of events took place to glorify the history of the Turkmen sport last year. It should be noted that the Turkmen athletes won the gold medals at the World Weightlifting Championships and the first Olympic medal in the history of the national sport.

Sport is the source of health, wellness and happy life. Independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan is recognized all over the world as a sports power in the epoch of might and happiness. To date, beautiful, modern sports facilities adorn all the corners of the country, from the Olympic Village in our beautiful capital to small villages and towns. The successful holding of the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in 2017, the Amul – Hazar international rally and the World Weightlifting Championships in 2018 enhanced the international sports prestige of Turkmenistan and went down in the world sports history in the letters of gold.

A horse rider has a good health

The Turkmen leader praised the achievements of our Motherland during the wonderful New Year celebrations and noted that he had written a new poem ‘My Motherland Turkmenistan!’ The President of Turkmenistan presented the new work to his family members first. The publication of the new poem in the mass media has become a wonderful gift for our compatriots. The new work has the line ‘Forward, Forward, Only Forward!’; our great motto was the call to the Turkmen people to continue the large-scale work under the wise leadership of the President of Turkmenistan in the epoch of might and happiness.

Shagadam is on the winning path

The Shagadam FC has won the 40th victory in the history of the Football Cup of Turkmenistan. The 40th victory brought the second Cup to the team. The Shagadam FC has played 92 matches in total so far in the second-tier football tournament of our country. The club has 40 wins, 18 draws and 34 losses.

It should be noted that the Turkmen sport is developed at the international level. This process includes promotion of peace through sports. To date, Turkmenistan has gained international recognition as the country that has the opportunity to host large sports events. Being citizens of an independent country, the Turkmen athletes compete in international tournaments under our national flag. This fact indicates that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to creation of a solid sports base, to development of the mass physical culture and sports movement, and high-level sports, and to promotion of the principles of a healthy lifestyle among people, especially the youth.

The 140th anniversary of our beautiful capital and the 30th anniversary of independence were celebrated in 2021. To date, Ashgabat, the capital of an independent country, is widely known as a regional coordinating centre, a fast-growing city of sports. Ashgabat amazes travellers with its beauty. Impressive work is underway to promote sports and youth policy thanks to the Turkmen leader. At Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, young people do different sports. Students spend their free time practicing sports. A number of activities are being carried out in the institution of higher education to implement the tasks set by the President of Turkmenistan in the field of training of the sports professionals and the athletes who will compete in international events. Students succeed in tournaments and multiply the sports achievements of the Institute.

Our white city, Ashgabat

Ashgabat, the capital of our country, is becoming more and more beautiful. The city’s population has convenient and favourable conditions that meet the developed international standards. All districts and historical centre of the capital have been recently modernized. New housing estates have been built. The 140th anniversary of the capital is celebrated in the year, held under the motto ‘Turkmenistan – the Home of Peace and Trust’. As is known, hundreds of complexes with unique architectural features have been created in the capital. The President of Turkmenistan approves large and important construction projects, and monitors all phases of their implementation. This process includes everything from the decoration of buildings to their maintenance, the timely commissioning of facilities and high quality. The title ‘Honoured Architect of Turkmenistan’, awarded to the Turkmen leader by the Decree of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan in May 2013, demonstrated the fruitful work of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in this sphere.

The education system is one of the key indicators of the country's development. The President of Turkmenistan is deeply concerned about the development of this system. Thus, the preparation of qualified personnel, who have a good command of science and innovation, is now considered one of the most important issues in the world. At the same time, impressive work is conducted in the field of sports. The most widespread digital system in our country is established in the sphere of sports. Athletes benefit from the digital system and hold the training sessions of a higher level. To date, electronic devices are widely used to check distance, heart rate, and calories consumed. An invaluable encyclopaedia

The Volume XIII of the encyclopaedic work ‘Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan’ by the President of Turkmenistan became a wonderful gift for the Turkmen people. As well as other volumes, the new book won the hearts of our compatriots. This work describes in detail the medicinal and healing properties, growth, distribution, storage, preparation and use of the plants that are important in the protection of human health. The book includes 120 species of previously unknown endemic medicinal plants growing in Turkmenistan, which are of great importance in folk medicine. The names of the plants are provided in the Turkmen, Latin, and Russian languages. Their pictures and available information are understandable for scientists and common people.
