What do you do when you want to relax? Or what do you do when you want to spend your time with your friends? You probably invite them for tea or coffee, right? Some people say tea is an excuse to spend time with people. Actually, it is one of the most incredible discoveries on earth, because when you want to see some one or talk to someone, you invite them for tea. Moreover, this is so nice to make tea for your parents or the elders after they have sat down and relaxed. So, what do you know about the history of tea?  Many of you know that the history of tea began in China. According to legend, the Chinese emperor Shen Nung was sit ting beneath a tree and his servant was boiling drinking water, when some leaves from the tree blew into the pot. Shen Nung, who was a renowned herbalist, decided to try the infusion that his servant had prepared accidentally. So let’s learn some facts about tea:

Anau is the cultural capital of the Turkic world 2024

«7/24. tm», № 18 (153), 01.05.2023. The Ancient Anau – the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World conference took place at the Ak Bugday National Museum of Turkmenistan in Anau town. It marked the decision of the 39th Term Meeting of the Permanent Council of TURKSOY, which was held in Bursa (Turkey) on November 5 last year, to declare Anau town as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2024. It is also symbolic that 2024 was declared as the Year of the great poet and thinker Magtymguly Fraghi at this meeting.

On April 20, a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty was held under the chairmanship of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. It is noteworthy that the meeting was held with the participation of the deputies of the Mejlis, newly elected following the results of the elections of March 26, 2023 that are members of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, chairmen of the velayat, etrap and city halk maslahaty, archins of towns and settlements, which are the administrative centres of etraps, deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of the security, defence and law-enforcement agencies, hyakims of velayats, Ashgabat, etraps and cities and heads of political parties and public associations. Marathon Race of Akhalteke Horses

On the expanses of emerald hills interspersed with red tulips against the background of the Kopetdag Mountains in the Ak Bugday etrap of the Ahal velayat, one could observe the flight of “heavenly” horses. These were participants of a marathon long-distance race to mark the forthcoming National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse. The organiser of the race was the Türkmen Atlary State Association. In the race, famous horses of the Ahalteke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan, the International Ahalteke Equestrian Complex, the National Equestrian Centre, the Ministry of Defence of Turkmenistan and the Frontier Guard Service participated. The marathon route consisted of two stages 30 kilometres each and passed through rough terrain.

Dedication to rhe “Heavenly” Horses

The ceremony of awarding the winners of the creative contest “Winged Horses – Our National Pride”, timed to coincide with the National Day of the Turkmen Horse, took place at the Museum of Fine Arts of the capital. The event was organised by the Ministry of Culture and the National Trade Union Centre of Turkmenistan. Figures of culture and art, writers and poets, journalists and residents of our country took part in the competition with great creative enthusiasm. In the nomination of the best poems glorifying the beauty of the Ahalteke horses, the laureates were the head of the department of the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan Rahman Dovletov, the editor of the department of the Watan newspaper Ogultach Oraztaganova, students of Magtymguly Turkmen State University Gunesh Maksadova and Begench Amashov, teacher of secondary school 5 of the Etrek etrap, Balkan velayat, Ahmetberdi Mededov, a resident of Saparmyrat Turkmenbashi etrap, Dashoguz velayat, Gurbanbay Amanov, the head of the literary and drama department of Seyitnazar Seydi State Music and Drama Theatre of the Lebap velayat Shohrat Masharipov and a resident of the town of Bayramaly, Mary velayat, Mayagozel Amanova.

“Mother is the Harmony and Eternity of the World”

The title words are cited from the book Worshipping Mother – Worshipping a Sacred Person by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. They were remembered again in connection with the sad news that Ogulabat eje, the mother of our wise Hero-Arkadag and grandmother of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, passed away in the holy month of Ramadan at the age of 86. The loss of a beloved, dear, closest person at any age is the hardest grief. In these mournful days, all citizens of Turkmenistan are extending their sincere condolences and their words of sympathy and support to them. Mother… This is the dearest word in the world. Mother… There is everything in this word: tenderness, kindness, love and care. It sounds in different beautiful melodies, including lullabies. It contains sleepless nights and endless excitement. Mother is a symbol of boundless love and life. Mother gives each of her children a piece of herself, her soul. She wishes him happiness and a cloudless fate.

The Beginning of a Great Path

Last week, the first meeting of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan of the seventh convocation was held with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The meeting was held in a wide format at the Centre for Public Organisations of Turkmenistan. Among the participants were deputies of the sixth and seventh convocations, deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of ministries and departments, representatives of political parties, public organisations, the media, the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda in Turkmenistan and others. Of fundamental importance for the audience was the speech of the head of state, in which the President outlined the most significant tasks on improving the national legislative framework for the further development of the country. A round table was devoted to the discussion of the key theses of the speech of the head of state and was held with the participation of deputies of the Mejlis of the seventh convocation Serdar Durdiyev, Bayramgozel Myradova and Chemen Rejebova elected from the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan. The event was organised jointly by the Ashgabat City Committee of the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and the editorial office of the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

Cotton Planting Campaign Launched in Turkmenistan

An important agricultural campaign, cotton planting, has been launched in the country. In accordance with the schedule announced by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers on March 17, cotton growers of the Ahal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary velayats started planting cotton on March 24. Farmers in the Dashoguz velayat joined them on March 29. Cotton farming is one of the leading sectors of Turkmenistan’s agroindustrial sector, which plays an important role in the implementation of the state import substitution and export promotion programmes.

International Day of Navruz

«7/24. tm», № 12 (147), 20.03.2023. International Navruz Day has been celebrated since 2010. The proposal to introduce a new date in the UN calendar was made by the governments of several states: Azerbaijan, Albania, Afghanistan, Macedonia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey. On February 23, the UN General Assembly accepted the initiative of these countries and fixed March 21 as an international holiday - Navruz Day.
