On June 23, within the framework of his working trip to the Lebap velayat, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the opening of the International Air Harbour in Kerki.

During the ceremony, the Kerki International Airport was presented with an official ICAO document on the assignment of a four-letter UTAE location code and a Certificate of Conformity to International Standards issued by the Munich Airport International.
