Cooperation for Sustainable Development
The main objective of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy is to provide comprehensive assistance to the world community in its efforts to maintain and strengthen the global security system and to ensure conditions for the sustainable development of states and peoples. The fundamentally important position of Turkmenistan is that for many years our country has firmly defended the principle of the indivisibility of security, its integrity and the inalienability of its various aspects: military, political, economic, environmental, energy, transport and others. Based on the indivisibility of security and the need to develop coordinated and integrated approaches to ensuring it, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov put forward an initiative to develop a Global Security Strategy at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly. Turkmenistan’s active international activities to create a global energy supply system for the sake of the peaceful and sustainable development of peoples and states fit organically into the logic of the general strategy of global security.
