Novruz bayram —holiday of renewal and benevolence

Novruz is annually celebrated in our country on March 21-22, the day of the vernal equinox, and heralds the coming of the New Year. Novruz is one of the oldest holidays that have lived for many centuries in the souls and memory of many nations, including Turkmen people. Today this bright holiday has acquired an international status, embodying the high principles of peace, humanism, diligence, being a symbol of friendship and goodwill. This beautiful, widely celebrated spring holiday contributes to the strengthening of peaceful relations between states and popularizes the historical and cultural traditions of peoples. From times immemorial, Turkmen people have been especially zealous in celebrating numerous national celebrations. For the Turkmen, the words «toy» and «bayram», meaning «celebration» and «holiday» are very important. National holidays spiritually enrich and strengthen the cohesion of the people, give rise to new rituals, customs and traditions that are subsequently passed on from generation to generation. Studying current foreign policy and international co-operation

Formation of a comprehensively developed young generation with deep knowledge and a broad outlook, training of highly qualified personnel capable of thinking in a new way are the priority tasks of state policy in modern Turkmenistan. Now, when special attention is paid to the intellectual development of the nation, there is a wide opportunity for the young generation to receive high-quality education and conduct fruitful scientific and educational activities. Agahan Durdyyev, the Pioneer of the new Turkmen Literature

In his book «The time to look back» remembering the course of life and the creative work of Agahan Durdyyev, a well-known Turkmen writer, one of the pioneers of the new Turkmen prose Alexander Ivanovich Aborskiy wrote: «For a long time there is not Agahan among us. Schoolchildren, young people read his books, philologists study his manuscripts, from time to time in editorial office or in the Union of Writers they remember this quiet and at the same time significant, bright man. One day, as if by chance, it was revealed that in comparison with his contemporaries of the same age, Agahan mastered well pure, rich Turkmen language. It is of course very important and these features for the young Turkmen prose are of no small importance. But not only purity of the language and picturesque style show the true essence of the prose of Agahan Durdyyev». (A.Аборский. Время оглянутъся. Москва, 1988, стр. 200) It is really so. In 1920-s works of this writer really opened new pages of the new Turkmen literature.

The wisdom of our esteemed President opens the way to the world

On the first days of 2021, announced as the year «Turkmenistan - Homeland of Peace and Trust» in which the 30th Anniversary of our Independence will be celebrated, glorious events written in golden letters in history, such as putting in commissioning of the 30 km. long «Akina-Andhoy» railroad, construction of the 153 km. long 500 kilovolt power electric transformation complex along the Kerki-Shibirgan Route, putting into operation of the Ymamanazar-Akina and Serhetabad-Turgundy fibre-optical international communication complex between our countries, and also the opening ceremony of the gas-compressor station in the «Malay» gas field located in the Charjev district brightly showed the reality about realization of great works giving an impetus to securing of the well-being of the present and future generations, strengthening friendly-fraternal relations and goodwill co-operation in the world and development of countries. Turkmenistan pursues foreign policy based on the principles of positive neutrality, peace-loving, open doors, good neighborliness and equal beneficial co-operation with countries of the world. Today, our country closely co-operates with the UN, OSCE, EU, CIS and other authoritative international organizations on pressing issues of international agenda. Traditionally, unash, one of the popular Turkmen national dishes is a noodle soup which is made of thin Turkmen macaroni. It is a good meal for digestion and its preparation is simple, and moreover, it is often cooked in our homes because it is loved by adults and children too. Among our people, different types of unash are prepared, such as flavored unash, unflavored unash, unash with beans. Chicken soup is a good digestive, appetizing, relieving pneumonia in the lungs, improving the condition of the bones, connective tissues and having a positive effect on the nervous system and strengthening the body's resistance to various diseases. Today, different types of unash products are also produced in industrial enterprises of the country. Among Turkmens, if someone says «I’m cold» or «I have caught a cold», it is immediately said: «Have unash with pepper, and sleep for awhile. You will recover from your disease immediately». While I was looking through the pages of the book the article «The leading scientist of archaeology of Central Asia» attracted my attention. It was very strange and interesting biography. This personality had to overcome a number of difficulties and went through continents.

Resources of the Zengibaba Lake

We can see the Akjagaya Basin, the Mergenashan Ravine, including Zengibaba area near the Gaplanggyr Reserve in the territory of the Dashoghuz Province. They are located in the desert area in 180 km. distance from the centre of the Dashoghuz Province and in 60 km. of south-west from the Ruhubelent township, at the foot of the Shasenem State Nature Reserve. These beautiful places of nature are remarkable for their geographic location, by their unique flora and fauna. According to the legend among the people once upon a time the saint person by the name Zengibaba lived in this part of the country. He was the god of cows. Sitting on top of the hill on the bank of the lake with fresh water, around which there was abundance of green grass Zengibaba pastured cows. The seven metre long grave of Zengibaba has preserved to our times on the top of the mentioned hill. The lake situated near it is called the Zengibaba Lake. The total area of the Zengibaba Lake is equal to 2470 hectares and the volume of water is equal to 140 cubic metres. It borders on the Shasenem State Reserve. This lake was formed as a result of flow of drains in the north-west of the Zengibaba Elevation. The deepest point of it reaching 16 metres of depth is situated in the eastern part of the lake. European Orientalists about the Turkmen Literature

The scientists of Europe began showing interest in Turkmen literature in the 19th century. Heinrich Friedrich von Diez (1751-1817), a German diplomat and orientalist , translated and published several works of Eastern literature. In 1811 he published some parts from the Turkmen epic «The Book of Father Gorkut» («Gorkut ata») under the name «The Book of Oguz». Besides that he published his article about the chapter of the epic «The song how Beset killed Depegoz» comparing it with the episode about one-eyed Cyclops, named Polyphem in the 9th song of the epic «Odyssey» by Homer, a Greek epic poet of the 8th century B.C. He also published Turkmen sayings and proverbs, because for some years he worked as a diplomat in Turkey. Johann Wolfgang Goethe (1749-1832) a well-known German classic poet, after reading «The Book of Oguz» published in German by Friedrich von Diez wrote the following poem expressing his gratitude to him in his book «West-östlicher Divan»:
