A literary work about moral values

To date, our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has written a number of books about the rich heritage of the Turkmen people. This wonderful work by our Hero-Arkadag is a reflection of the Turkmen model on the moral issues of life. Our Hero-Arkadag noted, ‘Young people are our future. They are the people who will shape the destiny of the nation and the country.’ The main goal of our state is to educate patriotic, humane and highly developed future generations to rule the country.

A skilful player

The official website of the Asian Football Confederation has published articles about the AFC Asian Cup 2023 qualifiers. They shine the spotlight on some of the players to keep an eye on before the continental competition. The articles highlight a list of 12 best players from the teams that will play the matches in Calcutta, Kuala Lumpur and Bishkek. The list includes Altymyrat Annadurdyev, a forward of the football team of Turkmenistan. One of the paragraphs reads: ‘Altymyrat Annadurdyev has been Turkmenistan’s main source of goals in recent years, with the Altyn Asyr forward on the score sheet in wins over Lebanon and Sri Lanka in the previous round and likely to be his country’s biggest threat once more.’ The national football team of Turkmenistan will meet the teams of Bahrain, Malaysia and Bangladesh in Group E of the AFC Asian Cup.

Chess is a wonderful game

Chess is a complex strategic game, called ‘brain gymnastics’. There are a number of techniques and methods to play this game. The Sicilian Defence, the opening of the game, is the favourite debut of many chess players. The Sicilian defence is an offensive strategy. It is performed by black pieces. The difference between this debut and the others is that the blacks are not only fighting for a draw, but for a victory. There are disadvantages to every strategy in chess. The downside is that white pieces are often the first to take advantage, so blacks have to counterattack without wasting time.

The basis for a bright future

World Children's Day is widely celebrated in many parts of the world, including in Turkmenistan, on the first day of summer – June 1. According to the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, World Children's Day is included in the list of official holidays to demonstrate that Turkmenistan fully supports the efforts of the world community in helping the younger generations. The concern for children is the safest investment in the future. Today's young generation is the people of the future, the people who will promote the development of country. The Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 include Goal 3 ‘To ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages’ and Goal 4 ‘To ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and to promote lifelong learning opportunities for all’. The above-mentioned goals are inextricably linked to the development and well-being of children.

Asian Championships qualifiers

The youth team of Turkmenistan takes part in the qualifying round for the Asian Table Tennis Championships. The qualifiers for the 2022 Asian Junior Championships is being held in Almaty, the Republic of Kazakhstan on June 2–10. Begench Agaorazov, a member of the Table Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan and a coach at the Mary sports school 3, expects to have 12 players to represent the Turkmen delegation at the tournament. The schoolchildren from Ashgabat, including in Guychgeldi Allanazarov, Vepa Meredov, Ylyas Allanazarov, Bagul Begenjova, Medine Nurgeldiyeva, Aynur Berdiyeva, Enejan Charvaeva, and other tennis players will take part in the event. Alibek Jumanov, a schoolchild at the Young Olympians school, Davut Yakubov and Emir Garyagdyev, the students at Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, will also represent our national team.
