The Turkmen leader had headed the healthcare system of our country for many years and had initiated the development of the Saglyk State Programme. Its consistent implementation has allowed our country's healthcare system to reach the highest international standards and has enhanced the range and quality of medical services.

Given the state-of-the-art experience in the healthcare services, the Saglyk State Programme, adopted in 1995, is aimed at the transformations in this important field, at the introduction of advanced methods of treatment and prevention of diseases, at the preparation of the skilful specialists for the healthcare system, and at the development of medicine.
