Population census through history

«Türkmenistan Sport», № 1 (13), 2022 Turkmenistan is preparing to conduct the population and housing censuses in December 2022. The census results in Turkmenistan will be included in the world census results. Today we offer our readers some interesting facts from the history of the population census.

April 23 – English Language Day

  «7/24.tm», № 16 (99), 18.04.2022. The UN declared April 23 English Language Day. The main aim of establishing this event in 2010 is «to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity as well as to promote equal use of all six official languages throughout the Organization». The observation of English Language Day on this date is symbolical, as the great dramatist William Shakespeare was born and passed away on this day.

En­su­ring environ­men­tal­ly sa­fe con­di­tions for the po­pu­la­tion, the en­ti­re diver­si­ty of flo­ra and fau­na, environ­ment pro­tecti­on through the reconst­ructi­on and re-equip­ment of in­dust­rial en­terp­ri­ses, the int­ro­ducti­on of cyclic techno­lo­gical proces­ses and ener­gy ef­ficient practices and the ra­tio­nal use of our rich na­tu­ral re­sources are the ma­in goals of the sta­te po­licy imp­le­men­ted in Turk­me­nis­tan. This is sup­por­ted by the le­gal fra­me­work for environ­ment pro­tecti­on crea­ted over the years of in­de­pen­dence and adop­ted laws that re­gu­la­te re­la­tions bet­ween the sta­te and users of na­tu­ral re­sources, in­ten­ded to en­su­re environ­men­tal sa­fe­ty. To cont­rol the imp­le­men­ta­tion of environ­men­tal le­gis­la­tion in in­dust­rial and ot­her econo­mic activities and to mo­ni­tor the sta­te of the environ­ment, the Environ­men­tal Cont­rol Service was es­tab­lis­hed wit­hin the structu­re of the Mi­nist­ry of Ag­ricul­tu­re and Environ­ment Pro­tecti­on of Turk­me­nis­tan in 2012, which is celeb­ra­ting its tenth an­niver­sa­ry this year. Reviving the great silk road

The Great Silk Road. This is one of the most significant achievements of world civilisation. It not only connected the East and the West, but became a source of mutual enrichment for two civilisations and taught the culture of international dialogue. Being at the crossroads of the Great Silk Road, Turkmenistan fulfilled the mission of a kind of bridge between the ancient centres of world civilisations. And today, realising the importance of the transport component for ensuring sustainable relations between countries, independent neutral Turkmenistan, actively implementing its transport policy, contributes to the strengthening of interstate ties. Turkmenistan has become widely known as a modern international logistics centre along the ancient trade route. Owing to the geostrategic location of Turkmenistan, several international transport corridors pass through our country. One of them is the TRACECA corridor. Accor­ding to the far­sigh­ted and scien­ti­fical­ly con­fir­med po­licy of our He­ro Ar­ka­dag to en­su­re the po­li­tical, econo­mic, social and ot­her rights and free­doms of every per­son of our Mot­her­land, to strengt­hen the de­mocra­tic norms and le­gal foun­da­tions of the count­ry and society we­re de­fi­ned as the prio­ri­ties of our sta­te po­licy.

On March 19, at the inau­gu­ra­tion cere­mo­ny, the po­pu­lar­ly elected Pre­si­dent of Turk­me­nis­tan Ser­dar Ber­di­mu­ha­me­dov to­ok the oath of al­le­giance to the Mot­her­land and the peop­le and add­res­sed the par­ticipants of the inau­gu­ra­tion cere­mo­ny with a speech. The Inau­gu­ral Add­ress of the Pre­si­dent was a celeb­ra­tion of the uni­ty of the peop­le, the sta­te and the Pre­si­dent of in­de­pen­dent and neut­ral Turk­me­nis­tan at such a sig­ni­ficant mo­ment in our his­to­ry and loyal­ty to na­tio­nal de­mocra­tic values. The­se three key words for the Turk­men peop­le we­re and re­main in­se­pa­rab­le, sym­bo­li­sing the de­mocra­tic values that are the ba­sis of the mo­dern Turk­men sta­te. Celebration of renewal and wellbeing

The people of Turkmenistan celebrated Novruz Bayram with special enthusiasm – the festival of renewal and prosperity rooted in antiquity. From time immemorial, many nations, regardless of religion, observe it. Novruz is celebrated on March 21, on the day of the spring equinox. It is a symbol of the new year in many countries of the world.

Semeni is a symbol of kindness

«7/24.tm», № 12 (95), 21.03.2022. Semeni is useful for both adults and children, it can replace some medications as it contains many vitamins and minerals. One tablespoon of semeni contains as many vitamins as 2 kilogrammes of fruit. Its calorie content is 656 kcal per 100 g of the product. Therefore, the intake of this delicacy should be reduced. In small quantities, the dish helps lose weight. It cleanses the liver and lungs and improves bowel function. As a medicine, it is useful to cope with stress and acts as a sedative. It boosts the immune system and helps treat beriberi. In general, it has as many useful properties as the ginseng root.

National Spring Holiday

The promotion of the principles of a healthy lifestyle is one of the highest achievements of the President of Turkmenistan in the revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. In this context, the Turkmen leader emphasizes that the recognition of Turkmenistan as a sports power is our greatest achievement in the years of independence. In the revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, the ancient spiritual and moral values and traditions of our people are cherished under the wise leadership of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. In this context, the National Spring Holiday has a special place in the cultural life of our people. The International Day of Nowruz is a celebration of spiritual upbringing and beauty. The National Spring Holiday, as well as the traditions, literary works, folk games, and wedding dishes of the Turkmen people, date back to ancient times. We heartily congratulate the Turkmen leader and our beloved people on the International Day of Nowruz. The results of the Presidential elections

On March 12, 2022, an important socio-political event - the election of the President of Turkmenistan - was held in an organized, festive and cheerful manner. From 7:00 to 19:00 on election day, eligible citizens took part in the voting. Of the 3.460.080 registered voters across the country, 3.362.052 cast their ballots, with a turnout of 97.17%. A total of 9 candidates competed in the elections which was held in democratic conditions.  Thus, according to the results of the voting:

On elections of President of Turkmenistan to the 19 o'clock 97,12% of voters voted. According to Ahal province voted 97,68%, Balkan province 97,29%, Dashoguz province 96,80%, Lebap province 97,13%, the Mary province 96,97% in the city of Ashgabat 97,51% of voters.

March 12, 2022 at 7 o'clock in the morning began voting at all polling stations in 2577 and will end on 19 o'clock in the evening. According to Ahal  province 454507, according to Balkan province 286058, in Dashoguz province 729082, Lebap province 709396, Mary province 804768, the city of Ashgabat 452139 voters were registered. In total, 3435950 voters were registered in the Presidential elections in Turkmenistan.
