State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan established

«Türkmenistan Sport», № 4 (16), 2022 On October 20, 2022, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution On the establishment of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan. In accordance with the document, the Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan ceased its activities, and the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Culture and Sports was established instead of it. The Resolutions of the President of Turkmenistan approved the Regulations on the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan and the structure of the Central Office of the Committee.

The history of Christmas lights

However, it was years ago that the concept of LEDs was actually discovered. Christmas lights are a recent application for LEDs. Light emitting diodes (LEDs) were first used for commercial applications. There really is a history behind LEDs and the effect they currently have (and have had in recent years) on the Christmas light industry.

In the Name of Universal Values

A solemn online presentation in five official UN languages of the song “Ýaşasyn parahat durmuş!” (“Long live a peaceful life!”) to the verses of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, respected Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took place at the Palace of Muqams of the State Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan. The work of the Hero-Arkadag, which calls upon the peoples of the planet to adhere to the principles of peace, trust and friendship, was presented to the participants of the celebration on the eve of the International Day of Neutrality, annually celebrated on December 12 in accordance with a special Resolution of the UN General Assembly, adopted on the initiative of Turkmenistan.

Caspian Sea Vector of Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan that has a modern transport infrastructure and is located at the intersection of the transport and transit corridors of the Eurasian continent, many of which pass through the Caspian Sea region, attaches great importance to creating favourable political, economic and legal conditions for the effective use of the transport potential. This is also a key issue on the economic agenda of the region. The development of multimodal transport infrastructure in the Caspian Sea region was considered at a working meeting, which was held by the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan on the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan in the Avaza national tourism zone on November 24. If we trace the geography of the main trade corridors of ancient times, we can see that they ran mainly along two axial directions: North–South (the route from the Varangians to the Greeks, the Volga trade route) and East–West (the Lapis Lazuli Way, the Great Silk Road). Moreover, many of them ran through the Caspian Sea region. This region became a key crossroads due to its favourable location on the border of the large states (Persia, Sogdiana and Khwarezm). The Caspian Sea region started to play an important role with the beginning of the development of the oil industry on the Absheron Peninsula.

New Hydraulic Facility: No Analogue All over the World

Recently, a complex of mudslide facilities near Ashgabat, designed to stop strong mudslides caused by prolonged heavy rains and to effectively use the accumulated water, was put into operation. The facility was built in accordance with the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan under the contract between the Ashgabat Hyakimlik and Vozrozhdenie Production Association JSC (Russia) concluded in March 2020. The Turkmen-Russian team of engineers and hydraulic scientists from the Türkmensuwylymtaslama Institute of the State Committee for Water Economy and the Sevkavgiprovodkhoz Institute worked on the project. In an interview with the newspaper correspondent, the Head of the Department of Hydraulic Engineering Facilities of the Faculty of Irrigation and Reclamation at S.A. Leaders of the International Competition

The student team, consisting of the winners of the national tour of the Central Asian contest “Spelling Bee-2022”, worthily represented our country at the final competition, held in the capital of neighbouring Uzbekistan, the city of Tashkent. Let us remind that this competitive initiative is a long tradition of English-speaking countries, aimed at identifying skills in the correct pronunciation of letters in order to successfully cope with the difficulties of English spelling. This time, held on the large scale in the Central Asian region, the competition involved the best Turkmen students, four of whom, as winners of the national tour, represented our country at the final competition held in the international format.

Garden is decoration of life

The International Certificate given to the city of Ashgabat for its support through tree-planting actions and its contribution to the initiative «Gardens in the city» of the European Economic Commission of the UNO proves the recognition of successes of our country in protection of ecology and environment on the international level and success in turn in foreign policy of our country. At the session of the Cabinet of Ministers on the 22nd of April of this year our Esteemed President congratulating our people with important events underlined that the programs and projects of Turkmenistan and the UNO directed at attaining the sustainable development have been successfully realized by common efforts. For the sake of securing national and universal ecological safety the National Forest Program including the tasks of tree planting around the towns and villages, along automobile highways and railroads in our country is successfully being realized. Because protecting nature is one of the important trends of the state policy of Turkmenistan. It consists of taking care of health, creating good living conditions and for having a rest of people. In March of this year organization of tree planting event started by our Esteemed President in our capital devoted to the day of International Novruz Holiday—our National Spring Holiday vividly shows this truth.

Import Substitution as a Crucial Economic Factor

A flexible and pragmatic import substitution strategy underlies the successful development of all spheres of Turkmen economy. Its successful implementation contributed to the continued downward trend of imports, since the increase in domestic production has enabled to reduce the imports of many products, consumer goods and foodstuffs. In recent years, Turkmen producers have significantly expanded their presence in the market. Such large-scale work allows creating new industrial areas for Turkmen economy and expanding consistently the list of domestically produced goods able to compete in the market. Domestic manufacturers have made great progress in all sectors of the economy and consistently expand the list of goods, contributing to saturating the domestic commodity market and enhancing the export potential of our country.

Turkmenistan Hosts the International Exhibition and Conference “Türkmentel-2022”  The capital hosted the opening of the regular XV International Exhibition and Scientific Conference on Telecommunications, Telemetry, Information Technologies and Broadcasting Equipment, entitled “Türkmentel-2022”. The event, organised by the Türkmenaragatnaşyk Agency and the country’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was held not only in the traditional format, but was also broadcast from Ashgabat online to dozens of countries around the world.

Sustainable Cities Are the Key to a Green Future

In accordance with the Resolution of the UN General Assembly, World Cities Day is observed in the international calendar at the end of October. The aim of the Day is to raise awareness about the challenges facing cities all over the world and to set the international community on the implementation of the new Urban Development Agenda. It was celebrated for the first time in 2014 at the initiative of the United Nations Development Programme. This year’s global observance takes place under the theme “Act Local to Go Global”. Local action is critical to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. On this occasion, Narine SAHAKYAN, UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan, gave an interview to our correspondent. NT: “Urbanisation today has become one of the most transformative and visible phenomena in society. Present to the speed of the fast horse

When the Turkmen people celebrate  holidays, family events and  other important ceremonies they usually  organize horse-races and then give presents  to  the winners of the horse-races. The organization of horse-races at the  Ahal-Teke  Horse-breeding Sport Complex located near the Kopetdag Mountains on the occasion  of the 31st Anniversary, the glorious holiday of Independence of Turkmenistan vividly showed that  these holiday traditions reached our times passing through centuries.
