Walking or exercising in the heat can have very unpleasant consequences. Sunstroke is the most obvious of them. It happens when your body overheats. Sunstroke damages the central nervous system. Our body can regulate an internal temperature quite well: for example, when it rises, the body starts producing sweat. However, sometimes there are failures in this process. Heat stroke occurs when compensatory mechanisms for dissipating heat fail to keep up with heat loss and body temperature rises significantly. This triggers the inflammatory response, which causes the failure of various organs and systems. Failure of the nervous system, muscles, liver, kidneys, lungs and heart can occur.

Sunstroke can occur when the body is overexposed to the sun in hot weather. Sunstroke is also caused by strenuous physical activity in dry, calm weather. Some factors can increase the risk of getting sunstroke:
