Negotiations between President of Turkmenistan and Prime Minister of Malaysia

Today, talks between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim took place here. As was already informed, the day before the head of the state arrived in this country with an official visit, which is called to open a new landmark in the history of Turkmen-Malaysian cooperation. In the context of development of multilateral cooperation with states of the Asian-Pacific region, Turkmenistan consistently strengthens traditional relations with Malaysia, based on principles of mutual respect. In this regard, the bilateral trade and economic partnership, which meets mutual interests, is intensified. Malaysia, which enters into the number of rapidly developing states of the region, is one of the reliable partners of our country.

On December 17, 2024, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Executive Director of the Turkmenistan-USA Business Council Eric Stewart. Expressing gratitude for the meeting, Mr. Stewart emphasized the great interest of the US business community in working in the Turkmen market, where favorable conditions have been created for constructive activity.

Exhibition of export goods of the Republic of Turkey

December 4 at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Turkey exhibition of export goods and Turkmen-Turkish businessmen within it the regular meeting of the council has started its work. More than 70 companies and associations operating in various fields of Turkey participated in the exhibition. It mainly includes technical means, heating and cooling systems of buildings, chemical and construction materials, textiles, food industry products, medicine funds, household goods producer, logistics service system was presented. The exhibition was a great opportunity for the businessmen of the two countries. There is no doubt that this exhibition will be a suitable platform for establishing new business relationships, discussing the future of co-operation and exchanging experience. Because, this event is aimed at developing trade and economic relations, at expanding co-operation and attracting investments between Turkmenistan and Turkey.

Turkmenistan–Türkiye: Intensifying Trade and Economic Cooperation

The Export Goods Exhibition of the Republic of Türkiye opened in the capital, the programme of which included a regular meeting of the Turkmenistan–Türkiye Business Council. Turkmenistan and Türkiye attach great importance to promoting the mutually beneficial cooperation in various economic sectors, particularly trade and economic relations. On 3 December 2024, the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a working trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in the ‘One Water’ Summit held within the framework of the 16th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (COP-16). Following the unique traditions and customs of the Turkmen people, Haji Arkadag started his visit with a pilgrimage to the Holy Kaaba, visiting the city of Mecca.

On November 3rd, the XII International Exhibition and Conference titled «Construction, Industry, and Energy of Turkmenistan – 2024» was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. Ashgabat Celebrates 79th Anniversary of UN Formation

Leaders and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, heads, and staff of UN agencies in Ashgabat gathered in the office. The attendees discussed the role of the UN as an authoritative and legitimate universal international forum, a guarantor of peace preservation and maintenance, as well as a balance of interests on the international stage.

Built on Comprehensive Interaction

The adoption of the Resolution “Zone of Peace, Trust and Cooperation of Central Asia” at the 25th plenary meeting of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly once again concentrated the minds of the world community in the region, where an independent culture of interstate relations has been built on comprehensive interaction and the commitment of the countries to the common goals of peace, security and sustainable development. As reported on the website of the United Nations, the document was submitted by Turkmenistan on behalf of the Central Asian countries. The Resolution is co-authored by 37 states, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, India, Iran, China, Russia and Türkiye. The Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations Aksoltan Atayeva emphasised the importance of recognising the Central Asian countries as such a zone – an international legal phenomenon that is being formed by analogy with the universally recognised and currently functioning zones of peace in the South Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Latin America and the Caribbean. The establishment of the institutional and legal framework for multilateral cooperation, laid by the countries of the region, made it possible to create a zone of peace in Central Asia.

On 30 October 2024, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Alexei Overchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation from the Russian side.
