A valuable guide

Volume XVI of the multi-volume encyclopaedic work by our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov ‘Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan’ became a wonderful gift to our people. Besides the scientific research, the book includes a dictionary of names of medicinal plants, information on the methods of preparation of medicinal drinks.

The Country Widely Celebrates Turkmen Alabay Day

The country held celebrations to mark Turkmen Alabay Day, which included exhibitions, creative competitions for the artistic embodiment of the image of Alabay dogs in works of fine, decorative and applied arts and other cultural events. The IV Meeting of the Türkmen Alabaý Itleri International Association was held in the capital, during which new members were accepted into this organisation, and the best dog handlers of the country were awarded the honorary title “Türkmenistanyň at gazanan itşynasy”.

A valuable work

As is known, Volume XVI of the encyclopaedic work by our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov ‘Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan’ has been published recently. The book became a wonderful gift to the Turkmen people. The new volume of the book by our Hero-Arkadag has three language editions, namely, Turkmen, English and Russian. The volume was decorated with beautiful coloured pictures of the plants. The book provides detailed information on 106 plants of great importance in folk medicine. The main goal of the book is to improve the knowledge of medicinal plants, their structure, habitats, distribution, chemical composition, growth conditions, use in medicine, as well as the period of collection, methods, and storage. This information expands its significance for medical workers.

Our national pride

Great work is underway to preserve the purity of the Turkmen alabay, to glorify this breed on the world arena, to develop and improve the national dog breeding in the revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. The construction of the dog breeding complexes, the establishment of the Turkmen Alabay International Association, and the annual celebration of the Turkmen Alabay Day on the last Sunday in October vividly demonstrate this fact. Our happy people prepare to celebrate the Turkmen Alabay Day in the year ‘Ocean of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy’. On this remarkable holiday, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree on organizing the international contest ‘Ýylyň türkmen edermen alabaýy’ in Ashgabat on October 27, 2024, as well as on holding the relevant competition in the field of artistic expression of the appearance of the Turkmen alabay in the works of applied and practical art, publications, photographs, and TV shows. This document has great importance in promoting the Turkmen alabay, which is the national wealth and pride of the Turkmen people.

Nationwide council

The meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, chaired by our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, opened a new glorious page in the history of our Motherland on the eve of the 33rd anniversary of independence. The representatives of different social groups took part in the national forum held on September 24. These days, the promotional meetings are held for our compatriots. The basis for development

The significance of the literary works by Magtymguly increases in the world in the revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. The international forum ‘Interrelation of Times and Civilizations – the Basis of Peace and Development’ dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Pyragy took place in the white marble Turkmen capital and testified to the abovementioned fact. The wonderful poems by the great poet gladdened the hearts of people. To date, the world community fully recognizes that Magtymguly Pyragy is a great personality who left immortal philosophical poems about peace and all aspects of the human life. The heritage of the poet and his wise poems have entered the history and remind of the ocean with greatness and depth. The increasing interest in the literary heritage of the great thinker also gives reason to say so. The participants of the international forum ‘Interrelation of Times and Civilizations – the Basis of Peace and Development’ noted in their substantial speeches the opportunity to realize this fact in Ashgabat these remarkable days.

A blossoming city

As is known, the construction of facilities is underway on the territory of our white marble city of Ashgabat on the basis of comprehensive urban planning projects and programmes nowadays. A number of these facilities were put into operation on the eve of the 33rd anniversary of independence, which was celebrated with great joy in the year ‘Ocean of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy’. These opening ceremonies became a wonderful gift for our happy people. Ashgabat entered the Guinness World Records owing to its architectural features. Every building, avenue, street, the beautiful parks with tall trees, the fountains with sweet sounds of water, and the lighting systems that illuminate the city at night provide perfection and amazing beauty to our beloved capital.

The principles of humanity

Our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov implements great work on protecting the health of the younger generations, who represent the future of our Motherland. The establishment of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Aid to Children in Need of Guardianship proves this fact. To date, the organisation conducts large-scale measures to protect and restore children's health. Following the principles of friendship, good neighbourliness, and humanity, which are characteristic of the Turkmen people, children in different countries of the world received humanitarian aid at the expense of the Foundation. The organisation provided the medical ambulances equipped with the necessary modern equipment for the children's departments of regional and city hospitals. This year, Dialog+ haemodialysis systems were donated to regional health care institutions to improve the health of patients suffering from chronic kidney diseases and to prolong their life expectancy.

The voice of the human soul

Magtymguly Pyragy praised the concepts of morality and humanism, and created a unique school of promoting and educating these values. The principles of humanity include the concepts of ‘goodwill’, ‘kindness’, and ‘generosity’ in the literary works by the thinker. Magtymguly sometimes praised these concepts, sometimes compared them, at certain moments regretted that people lack certain qualities, and proved that goodwill is not just an intention, but an action. The humane character and the thought of benevolence shine the light of prosperity on our life and inspires our people to do only good deeds. Thus, when humanity forms the core of the state policy, people are happy, society is united, country is prosperous, and the state initiatives are always successful.

Respect for the great poet

Development in the economic and cultural life of the people and a wide range of transformations indicate the great work conducted in the country in the revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. The year ‘Ocean of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy’ and the international celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker became the most significant events in the cultural life of the Turkmen people. The anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Pyragy, who formed the spiritual heritage of the nation and the basis for the literary language, has special importance in the development of the cultural relations.

The glory of independence

The 33th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan has glorified the great work aimed at improving the living standard of people, increasing the potential of the national economy, and strengthening the country's position on the world arena. This work is successfully implemented within the framework of the national development programmes. Our independent Motherland achieved high living standards and rapid economic development for a bright future of people. Following the cherished tradition, the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan was held on the eve of the Independence Day, which was celebrated in the year ‘Ocean of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy’. Important issues were discussed at the meeting. Our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov described in the speech at the national forum the glorious path of independent Turkmenistan dreamed of by the great poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly Pyragy and the priorities for the development of democratic, legal and secular state. The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted the results of the impressive work conducted in the country in his speech. The President of Turkmenistan signed the important documents related to the integrated development of the country. These documents included the Decree on Holding Events in 2025, declared the International Year of Peace and Trust.

A meeting of historic importance

The meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, which was held in Ashgabat, became one of the remarkable events of the year ‘Ocean of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy’. Important issues of the social, economic and political development of the country were discussed at the meeting, chaired by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. These priorities were defined in the implementation of long-term strategic programmes for the development of our Motherland. The Turkmen people listened with great interest to the speeches delivered by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, our Hero-Arkadag noted that every citizen of the country cherishes great love for our Motherland and works diligently. For the wellbeing, happiness, and prosperity, the state serves the person, and the person serves the state.

It is an honour for me to extend my deepest gratitude to National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero Arkadag and President of Turkmenistan Arkadagly Hero Serdar for their great care for the prosperity of our country. It is a great privilege to address the remarkable forum – the International Conference on Attracting High Technologies and Innovations into Turkmenistan’s Economy. On September 10-11th, 2024, we witnessed an extraordinary gathering of minds, talents and enterprises from all over the world. Since our country gained sacred Independence, this forum testified to the shared commitment to fostering innovation, advancing technological progress and, most importantly, strengthening international cooperation.

It's been 33 years since Turkmenistan got the independence our people dreamed of for many centuries. Festive events are widely held in all corners of the country on the occasion of this remarkable holiday. The achievements of the nation in all fields excite the whole world thanks to the great concern of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. Thus, independence means the right to use the national language, flag and the Constitution of Turkmenistan, the main symbols of an independent country, and to cherish history, culture and traditions of the Turkmen people. All these values our compatriots have preserved and brought to nowadays.

Halk Maslahaty expresses the interests of people

The meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan was held at the Maslahat Palace in Ashgabat under the chairmanship of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on September 24. The agenda of the nationwide forum, which was held on the eve of the glorious holiday – the 33rd anniversary of independence of our beloved Motherland, included important issues aimed at ensuring the happy and prosperous life of the people, and the progress of the country on the path of development and prosperity. The holding of this public event has become a noble tradition. It focuses on the wellbeing of our country and provokes pride of our compatriots. According to Article 3 of the Constitution of Turkmenistan, the people exercise the sovereignty of Turkmenistan, and the people are the only source of the state power. The people of Turkmenistan exercise their power directly or through representative institutions. This means that the fundamental principle of establishing the rule of law is enshrined in the Constitution of the country. The Halk Maslahaty ensures the principles of humanism and justice, which go back to the democratic traditions of the Turkmen people, in the new historic conditions.

Triumph of Arkadag Smart City Conception

«Türkmenistan Sport», № 3 (23), 2024 Arkadag City that appeared on the map of Turkmenistan a year ago has received worldwide recognition. Arkadag was the only one participant of the World Smart City Expo (WSCE 2024), which was held in the Republic of Korea, to receive the Excellence Award for the outstanding achievements. Arkadag was also presented in the Foreign City Award and the WSCE 2024 Contribution Award nominations.

Flag: A Symbol of Unity and National Pride

It features the vertical red stripe on the green field near the hoist, depicting five traditional carpet patterns, the white crescent and five stars. Each element of the flag is of profound cultural significance. The green colour represents the Islamic faith that plays the central role in Turkmen culture, while the red stripe signifies the vibrant history and traditions of the Turkmen people. Five carpet patterns are unique to five major tribes of Turkmenistan, symbolising unity of diverse national groups. The white crescent is the common symbol of the Islamic nations, representing hope and future, while five stars represent five provinces of Turkmenistan, known as velayats. The design of the flag is a testament to the rich heritage and national unity. The flag that was Introduced on February 19, 1992, shortly after Turkmenistan gained independence, serves as a reminder of the sovereignty of the Turkmen state and its commitment to preserving the national cultural heritage. The Turkmen flag is displayed proudly during the national holidays and significant events, reinforcing its role as a symbol of the strength and cohesion of the Turkmen state.

Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan met with the head of the Intergovernmental Coordination Council on Seed Issues of the CIS

On September 24, 2024, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the head of the Intergovernmental Coordination Council on Seed Issues of the CIS I. Kuzmin, who took part in the International Scientific Conference "Achieved Milestones and Set Tasks in Seed Production of Agricultural Crops", and was also awarded the highest state award of Turkmenistan. Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet in person and the hospitality shown on Turkmen soil, the guest highly appreciated the organizational level of the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, which became a vivid reflection of the unity, cohesion and desire of the Turkmen people to serve one goal.
