The national environmental policy of Turkmenistan is aimed at ensuring a clean ecology for the people to live in, preserving the natural resources for the future generations, and achieving reliable cooperation in this field at the regional and international levels.

The Caspian Sea Day is annually celebrated in our beloved Motherland on August 12. Within this important date, scientific and practical conferences, sports and cultural events, as well as children's contests on drawing and preparing practical works dedicated to the beautiful nature of the Caspian Sea are organized in the country. As is known, the Caspian Sea region is rapidly developing as one of the world's largest centres for the production and shipment of hydrocarbon resources, becoming a hub for the global transport corridors. Preservation of this gift of nature for the peoples living in the Caspian Sea region and for the wellbeing of the whole humanity and exploitation of the rich hydrocarbon reserves and mineral resources at the seabed form the core of the state programmes and projects within the environmental policy initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and successfully implemented by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
