A few days separate us from a major sporting event – an international hockey tournament among club teams, which will be held in our capital from April 15 to 20. The competition will open up new dimensions for the development of this winter sport in our country and will also serve as the best propaganda in terms of attracting Turkmen youth to sports activities.

From our country, the undisputed leaders, nine-time champions of Turkmenistan (absolute), hockey players of the Galkan Club of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will compete for medals. In the entire history of their performances on the national sports arena, they lost only in one match, dominating all the others on the ice rinks of Ashgabat. We would also like to add that most of the team of Galkan makes up the main backbone of the Turkmenistan men’s hockey team.
