The United Nations is an authoritative structure that was established to ensure peace and security on the planet. Among its important tasks are the development of interstate cooperation and aid in building a dialogue among countries. Turkmenistan became a full member of the UN on March 2, 1992. Thirty-one years of constructive cooperation was full of significant events.

The recognition by the Community of Nations of Turkmenistan as a permanently neutral state on December 12, 1995 was historic for our people and the entire world. In 2015, the UN reiterated its support for the policy of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, adopting the Resolution “Permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan” at the 69th session of the UN General Assembly. As part of the implementation of the strategy of the Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State, a new powerful impetus was given to the interaction between Turkmenistan and the UN.
