On October 13, Ashgabat resident Valentina Yakovlevna Zherdeva celebrated her 101st birthday. At the age of 20, she was drafted into the army and participated in the Great Patriotic War, where she operated anti-aircraft batteries and received many awards for her service. After the war, she worked at enterprises in Ashgabat, became a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. This was reported by the Ashgabat Social Services Institution of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan.
