Significant difficulties arising in the differentiation of suppurative echinococcal cysts and bacterial liver abscesses determine the need for constant improvement of diagnostic techniques [3, 5]. The predominance of similar imaging data of these types of focal liver formations reduces the diagnostic effectiveness of ultrasound and computed tomography, which are most often used in their differentiation [4, 6, 8].
