It has become a good tradition in Turkmenistan to announce the name of the first baby born at New Year’s night. This year it was a boy who was born at the Maternal and Child Healthcare Centre in the city of Arkadag.

He became the third long-awaited child in the Kakageldiyevs family, residents of the village of Yzgant of the Geoktepe etrap, Ahal velayat. The new-born is a real bogatyr, his weight is four kilograms 230 grams, and his height is 54 centimetres. The health of the child and his mother is satisfactory; they are constantly under the supervision of the Centre’s medical staff.
