By the end of the 31st World Summer Universiade in the city of Chengdu (China), the organising committee of sports competitions prepared and distributed to the media the results of the Games, which collected all the results of the Universiade. Thus, the champion of Turkmenistan in wushu, a student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports Aygozel Gurbangeldiyeva recently became the owner of a bronze medal in the weight category under 52 kg.
“The World Student Games serve the ideals of strengthening friendship and promote mutual understanding between boys and girls from different countries and the further development of the student sports movement,” Tirkish Dovletov, Honoured Coach of Turkmenistan, notes. “I train Aygozel for five years already, before, she was trained under the guidance of mentors from the Dashoguz velayat. For these competitions, she was also prepared by the coaches of sports schools 5 and 15 of the Main Directorate of Physical Education and Sports of the city of Ashgabat Yalkym Nuriyev and Shirmammet Berdiyev. Last year, in September, at the World Cup in martial arts among students, held under the auspices of FISU (International University Sports Federation) in the Turkish city of Samsun, Aygozel also excelled, she won a bronze medal in wushu in the weight category under 48 kg.”
