The wonderful tournaments held in the city of Arkadag, which is a generous gift to the Turkmen people, have demonstrated the great sports potential of the smart city. The sports facilities provide excellent conditions to hold such competitions in the city at a high organizational level. A 10,000-seat stadium, a multipurpose sports complex and a sports centre in the city of Arkadag hosted those tournaments. The Open Championships in Draka MMA, hand-to-hand and universal fighting, hapkido and kabaddi (an Indian team sport), held at the Multifunctional Sports Complex in the city of Arkadag, located in the beautiful corner of the country, vividly demonstrate this fact. The events gathered over 200 athletes of different ages.

The competitions included very impressive martial arts fights. It should be noted that the International Federation for Hand-to-Hand-Fighting was founded in 2006. This popular mode of sports allows using choke holds and painful holds and performing blows by hands and feet. The masters of this sport demonstrated their skills at a high level. The Draka MMA and hapkido events revealed that excellent conditions resulted in the great progress of sports in Turkmenistan.
