The ocean of wisdom
The poetry by the great thinker Magtymguly Pyragy, who glorified the Turkmen people all over the world, has become even more influential in our times. At the meeting of the Permanent Council of the International Organisation of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), its participants declared 2024 ‘the Year of the Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World – Magtymguly Pyragy’. Moreover, the poet's poems and manuscripts entered the UNESCO's (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Memory of the World Register. To date, many scientific works and books on the poet's literary heritage have been published. These works emphasize scientific views, rich literary heritage, beauty of the language, and education of the younger generations. The poems by Magtymguly Pyragy reflect the national spirit and feelings and formulate the humanitarian principles for people. They describe such qualities as courage, patriotism, respect, goodwill, love for nature, prudence, integrity, and kindness.
