Due to the significant spread of dry eye syndrome in society, which is considered a “disease of civilization”, issues of diagnosis, treatment and new data on the study of the functioning of the lacrimal gland are of great interest. The prevalence of dry eye syndrome among the population of various countries in 2007 ranged from 5% to 30% [5, 7].
