The Asian Continental Open Chess Championships took place in New Delhi, India, on October 26 – November 3. Nine Turkmen chess players competed in the tournament.

Over 90 men and over 50 women chess players from 13 countries of the region struggled to become the champion of Asia. Classical chess and blitz chess events were organized at the tournament.
