On November 3, 1958, the UNESCO headquarters building was inaugurated on the left bank of the Seine in Paris. It stands on the Place de Fontenoy, where the Military School is also located, and is designed by an international team of architects – the Frenchman Bernard Zehrfuss, American Marcel Breuer and Italian Pier Luigi Nervi.
