An online presentation of the UN World Water Development Report for 2023 was broadcast for our region by the UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty, Kazakhstan, with the assistance of the Central Asian Regional Water Network (Сar@wan) that seeks to unite stakeholders, to promote the principles of integrated water management and to create a scientific and information platform. The presentation was linked with the achievements of the SDG 6 indicators. Exchanging views, the representatives of the regional water community of Central Asia expressed support for the global theses put forward: water is at the core of sustainable development and adaptation to climate change, and conservation and sustainable water use are the basis for a prosperous future for current and future generations. Until 2012, the Report was issued every three years, then, based on the global survey results, the UN-Water mechanism participants decided to change the reporting frequency to an annual one. Specialists, scientists, builders and hydraulic engineers, environmentalists and climatologists study the report findings on a global scale and in their regions.
