World Health Day that marks the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organisation in 1948 is celebrated every year on April 7. At the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, this international date is included in the calendar of national holidays of Turkmenistan and is celebrated on a large scale. The festivities, abounding with physical activity, sports, cultural and recreational events and actions, take place throughout April.
