On July 19, a festival called «Mango Festival» was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of India in Turkmenistan at the «Yyldyz» Hotel in Ashgabat. The event was attended by representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of India in Turkmenistan, the head of the Department of Legal Regulation and Co-ordination of Foreign Economic Relations of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, as well as heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of mass media.

As we all know, mango is one of the oldest tropical fruits. This fruit has been cultivated in India for over 8 thousand years, and up to now about 1500 varieties of Indian mango have been described. For India, the mango is not just a traditional fruit, but a symbol of Indian culture, like the Bengal tiger or the lotus flower.
