The Turkmen State Institute of Culture actively promotes international cooperation in various areas. For example, the creative teams and lecturers from the Institute have taken part recently in the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan and other events marking the anniversary of the great philosopher and poet Magtymguly Pyragy in Japan, France, the People’s Republic of China, Türkiye, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
The events, aimed at promoting tourism, is no less significant. For example, the Turkmen delegation, consisting of a lecturer at the Faculty of Cultural Heritage of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture Hurma Durdiyeva, took part in the festive events marking the declaration the Uzbek city of Shakhrisabz the Tourism Capital of the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) in 2024. Taking into account the rich history and cultural heritage of this ancient city, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, this decision was taken at the 4th ECO Ministerial Meeting on Tourism, which was held online in December 2022.
