The good news from the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Paris, France) was announced at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on November 2, 2023. The Turkmen capital, Ashgabat, joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN), following its designation by UNESCO Director-General on October 31 – the World Cities Day.

As is known, Turkmenistan started work in this field in 2021 together with the relevant structures, committees and international experts from UNESCO. Over the years, the international community has recognized Ashgabat as a beautiful, technologically advanced city in the world. The Turkmen capital was developing according to modern international urban standards, and it was given the above-mentioned legal status.
