The meeting of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and public representatives, which was held under the chairmanship of our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in our white marble capital, became a victory of the Turkmen popular democracy. The Constitutional Laws of Turkmenistan ‘On the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan’, ‘On the Amendments and Additions to the Constitution of Turkmenistan’ were adopted at this historic meeting.

This fact indicated the adherence to our democratic principles, which were in harmony with the great spiritual, moral, and humanitarian traditions of our ancestors in the revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. The establishment of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, a representative body of the people's power, and the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, a legislative body, was an unforgettable political event in the history of our country.
