The Turkmen sambo wrestlers won six medals at the 49th World Sambo Championships, which was held in Astana. The tournament in Kazakhstan with the prize fund of $311,000 brought together 470 athletes from 80 countries, who competed for 31 sets of medals in the men’s and women’s sport and combat sambo tournaments. The Turkmen athletes brought home one gold, two silver and three bronze medals.
