During the years of sacred independence, every citizen of Turkmenistan has seen with their own eyes the Saglyk State Programme being implemented successfully in our country through efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. In accordance with the Programme, major healthcare facilities were built and put into operation in a short time in different regions of the country, including the Murghab Valley. The Multifunctional Diagnostic Centre, a children’s hospital, the Hospital of Internal Diseases, the Maternal and Child Health Centre and the Urgent Care Centre opened in the Mary velayat. These and other healthcare institutions are supplied with state-of-the-art medical equipment from the world’s biggest manufacturers, which has significantly improved public access to quality health care services. A significant event was the opening of another important facility in Mary, which is tasked to significantly improve the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the region.

We will talk about the Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Service (SESS) in the Mary velayat and Mary. This facility is a building complex that houses several departments conducting sanitary, hygienic, epidemiological, laboratory and diagnostic activities at which employees specialising in bacteriology, virology, parasitology, sanitation, hygiene and radiology work. This institution has the laboratories the staffs of which are tasked to analyse and prevent the spread of especially dangerous infections. Nearly all the facilities of the SESS are fitted with innovative equipment from the world-known medical equipment manufacturers from France, Germany, Italy, the United States, China and Denmark. These cutting-edge technologies enable the employees to conduct multifaceted research to find optimal solutions to specific sanitary and epidemiological issues not only inside the building, but also outside it, as the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov donated a Mercedes-Benz mobile laboratory vehicle to the SESS as a gift.
