At the ongoing Ashgabat Open 2024 International Tennis Tournament among juniors under 14, the semi-final matches in doubles competitions took place yesterday. In the girls’ competition, four teams were, in fact, Turkmen. Only Ashgabat athlete Sulgun Ishankulieva was assisted by Uzbek tennis player Safiya Sharipova. In the semi-final match, they played versus the pair of Aynur Annamyradova and Nyazli Hudaykuliyeva, who, in the course of a tough fight, longest so far in the tournament (the match lasted more than two hours), nevertheless lost with a score of 3-6 and 5-7.
