Bicycling for all

The Resolution “Integration of mainstream bicycling into public transportation systems for sustainable development” was adopted unanimously at the 61st plenary meeting of the 76th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations on March 15. The document co-sponsored by 62 states was adopted at the initiative of Turkmenistan. The Resolution calls on UN Member States and all relevant stakeholders, including civil society, the private sector and academia, to maximize the potential of the bicycle and other active mobility modes to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and objectives of the 2030 Agenda.

It has become increasingly popular all over the world to use the bicycle for transportation. Today, more than ever, people are saluting the many benefits of using a bicycle for transportation.
