Ensuring environmental safety is one of the main principles of Turkmenistan

During the Revival of the new Era of the Powerful State, great work is being done by our Hero Arkadag Serdar to improve the ecological condition of the country. In order to protect ecological well-being, our country has established mutual co-operation relations with the United Nations, the European Union and other international organizations. In this regard, our Hero Arkadag Serdar, in his historic speech at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, put forward a number of concrete initiatives. In his speech, the President proposed to prepare a target of ecological strategy of the United Nations for Central Asia, to create a regional centre for technologies related to climate change in Central Asia, to create the «Caspian ecological initiative» and drew the attention of the world community to solving the ecological problems of Central Asia.

The Statement was published in the agenda of the current meeting of the General Assembly on the clauses «Protection of global weather for the benefit of the present and future generations of mankind» and «The Zone of Peace, Trust and Cooperation in Central Asia». In particular, this document informs that Turkmenistan's accession to the Global Methane commitment and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) created a legal basis for the opening of the UN Regional Centre for Climate Change Technologies in Central Asia in Turkmenistan.
