Turkmenistan prepares for the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birthday of Magtymguly Pyragy in 2024. This fact demonstrates great value of the creativity of the poet and thinker, which is aimed at high humanitarian goals. At the meeting of the Permanent Council of the International Organisation of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), held in the city of Bursa of the Republic of Türkiye, its participants declared 2024 ‘the Year of the Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World – Magtymguly Pyragy’ and the ancient Turkmen town of Anau – the cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2024. These historic events will contribute to the development of friendly and brotherly relations between peoples, strengthen the cultural cooperation, mark the 300th anniversary of the birthday of our great poet and thinker Magtymguly Pyragy, and promote his literary heritage.

Humanist views in the poems by Magtymguly Pyragy have not lost their value. Moreover, the poet's poems and manuscripts entered the UNESCO's (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Memory of the World Register. The 300th anniversary of the birthday of Magtymguly Pyragy was included in the list of memorable dates in the celebration of UNESCO for 2024–2025. This fact indicates that the importance of the poet's creativity is recognized in the world, as well as that the Turkmen people make a worthy contribution to the world culture, science, literature, and art.
