Magtymguly Pyragy, the classic Turkmen poet of the 18th century, according to existing scientific information, was born in 1724 in the village of Hajygovshan located near the Gurgen River. Hajygovshan is situated in the eastern part of Kummetkhouz, near Gingjay. Magtymguly was from the Gerkez group of the Gokleng tribe of Turkmens.
