Turkmen Students Are among Best SDG Experts

The International Student Olympiad on Sustainable Development Goals, which was held online, ended with a two-time victory for the Turkmen participants. It is an annual initiative of the German-Kazakh University (die Deutsch-Kasachische Universität (DKU)), implemented in partnership with a number of other organisations. The working languages of the Olympiad are Russian and English. This intellectual competition included three sections: integrated water resources and landscape management; climate change and clean energy; industrialisation, innovation, infrastructure and the sustainability of cities and settlements.

A book is a true friend

Since ancient times, the Turkmen people have treated books with great respect and honour. In the work by N. Saryhanov, a single book was exchanged for a camel. Our ancestors always had a great demand for books. Although the libraries in Nisa, Koneurgench, Amul, Dehistan and Merv have not survived, the Turkmen people have created stories, legends, parables, and tales with deep meaning that are easy to remember and retell.

01.09.2022. The next, VII Congress of Magtymguly Youth Organisation of Turkmenistan was held at the Mekan Palace in the capital city. The Forum, timed to coincide with the 31st anniversary of the sacred independence of the Motherland, was attended by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. During the Congress, which brought together delegates from the capital and all velayats of the country, an analysis of the work, done over the past period, was made, and the priority tasks, facing the Organisation in the period of the Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State, and a number of organisational issues were considered.

On September 1, 2022, the festive events took place in Ashgabat and throughout Turkmenistan to mark the Knowledge and Students Day. Our country, preparing to celebrate the 31th anniversary of sacred independence, observed the Knowledge and Students Day widely and solemnly.

University Admission Campaign Is in Full Swing

In Turkmenistan, the admission campaign for potential students of institutions of higher and vocational educational establishments ended last Sunday. Starting tomorrow, applicants from different regions will start taking entrance exams, which have been held in the capital and velayats in recent years. Young people from the Balkan velayat will be the first to take entrance exams to Magtymguly Turkmen State University that will announce the names of happy holders of the title of first-year students in three days. Entrance exams to this oldest higher educational institution of our country will continue in the northern region that will pass the baton to Ashgabat. Then applicants for student’s tickets from the Ahal, Mary and Lebap velayats will have their turn.

Gold, silver and bronze medals won by young turkmen scholars

The 54th International Chemistry Olympiad - IChO-2022 (International Chemistry Olympiad) has completed its work. This year, it remotely brought together more than 320 young adorers of this discipline from over 80 countries of the world. As is known, this subject competition has been held since 1968. It was then that the first International Chemistry Olympiad was held in Prague (Czechoslovakia), the main task of which was to increase the interest of schoolchildren in chemical science around the world. At this annual intellectual competition, each country is traditionally represented by a team consisting of four Olympians and their mentors. Officially, this Olympiad is an individual championship. This year, China, the city of Tianjin, took over the baton of the subject competition of young chemists.

The advantages of reading

Books are a real treasure and a key to knowledge. Without books, our history would not exist. The "Paýhas çeşmesi" book, published thanks to the concern of our Hero-Arkadag, reads: ‘those who do not read books will see, those who read books will explore the world’, ‘those who read books are rich in spirit’, ‘books educate like parents’, etc. These sayings have great meaning. Reading educates a person, prepares for the challenges of life, makes advises, guides in the right path and awakens humaneness in people. In the childhood, people take a book in their hands and start to open its magic pages and discover its secrets. Each book has a special meaning and teaches people new things. If a person has a question or faces life's challenges, he or she can look for a solution in the book.

New Areas of Professional Training

On July 11, another admission campaign to secondary and higher vocational educational institutions of our country started. According to the established tradition, applicants for many of them are waiting for new areas of study, in which the training of specialists will begin for the first time starting from the forthcoming 2022-2023 academic year. As for higher educational establishments, here new areas of training are open, both on a paid and budgetary basis, at various levels of education, which are bachelor’s, specialist’s and master’s programmes.

Summer – the Hot Season

The calendar shows July, symbolising the approach of summer to the equator – the twice as hot season of the year, as it is at this time that the entrance exams to secondary and higher institutions of vocational education in our country starts. It is the hottest period for applicants. The most successful of them will deservedly join the ranks of students and enter the universities that this year’s graduates, the young highly qualified specialists in various professional fields, have left. Turkmenistan Brings Together Experts from Different Countries of the World

Five higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan took the initiative to organise international student Internet Olympiads in various areas. International University for the Humanities and Development offered an online platform for the International Mathematics Olympiad for University Students. The intellectual competition comprised the individual and team tournaments. The individual tournament had two categories: students who specialise in mathematics and computer technology competed in the first category and representatives of different academic disciplines in the second one.
