To the Future Based on Constructive Dialogue

Understanding the importance of a multifaceted, systemic and constructive dialogue for peace and a sustainable future united the participants of the Second Ashgabat Conference of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE PA), organised jointly with the Mejlis of Turkmenistan. The forum served as a platform for decision-makers at the highest legislative level for dialogue on peace, security and sustainable development. Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly and parliaments from dozens of countries in the OSCE region described their positions on strengthening peace through dialogue, trust and mutual understanding in the context of the OSCE comprehensive approach to security, covering the military, political, economic, environmental and human dimensions of security and is based on cooperation. The open discussions on the first day of work on the topic “Parliamentary diplomacy in the OSCE area: creating a solid foundation for sustainable international peace and security through dialogue and cooperation” reflect the nature of the processes, taking place in the world and the OSCE region, and the desire of parliamentarians to resolve issues through dialogue in order to build a sustainable future.
