The Turkmen people realized the dream of their ancestors for an independent state by gaining the independence of the country. A solid foundation of a democratic, legal, secular state has been established in Turkmenistan during the years of independence. The Constitution of Turkmenistan was adopted to ensure the formation and strengthening of an independent state.
According to the Basic Law, the citizens of Turkmenistan are provided with broad legal rights and freedoms. Excellent opportunities are created to work creatively and live a decent life in the country. Owing to the fundamental transformations conducted during the years of independence, the national economy reached a qualitatively new level of development. The status of permanent neutrality has strengthened the position of independent Turkmenistan in the world community.
